COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We utilize two types of American hops in such a way that we put the flavor of these hops center stage and let their bitterness fade into the background. The hop-forward character of this Pale Ale shines through in the unique, tropical fruit flavor of two American hop varieties. Enjoy this offering with a fresh approach to how a Pale Ale expresses its inner hoppiness.

Can. Light amber colour with a loose head. Lightly fruity hop aroma with a slightly toasty, slightly biscuity malt backdrop. Vaguely earthy hop. Toasty malt. A touch watery but I bet that makes it a little more refreshing on a hot afternoon. Could use a more expressive hop aroma though.

Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours light copper with a small frothy white head. Light aroma of citrus and floral hops over an even light malt backbone. Near med body. Flavor is floral and citrus over light caramel. But the flavor is fairly intense, and it’s crisp and clean. Finishes decently bitter, though not nearly to NW standard. It’s definitely worth drinking if it’s available.

Can. Pours with a crystal clear orange to lightly copper hued body with a medium sized, bone hued white head that slowly fades but leaves pretty decent lace. Aromas are balanced towards malt: strong caramel, lightly toasted and biscuit character malts, lightly nutty and tannic as well. Fruity aromas, medium esters. Hop character is slightly citrus and tropical fruit. Very malty for a beer that is suppose to be hop driven. Flavors are again very malt forward: caramel, biscuit, nutty, cola. Brief duration. Light DMS, lightly tangy. Low hop bitterness, neutral balance. Seems like they are using some sort of dark roast to get the color they want (which is adding a strange malt character). Very low hop flavor (and this can just arrived in CA). Moderate to low carbonation. Short finish, light grassy touch, pretty bland. Misses the mark as an APA.

Sort of an orange color with a white head. Nose is bland. Some orange peel, light cardboard, sweet bread, and some caramel. Lightly grassy and floral. There’s some sweet fruit and citrus to the flavor. Light bitterness of grass, pine, and orange peel. Sweet caramel and bread, notes of cardboard, and some floral hops. Not awful, just not a very good pale ale.

Can @ home. A touch hazy, dark orange appearance with an off white head with not the best retention. Toasted caramel malty, a touch nutty, earthy, slightly spicy hoppy aroma. Toasted, biscuity malty, light caramel, a bit chalky, light citrus, earthy hoppy flavor. Bleh.

Dogbrick (6021) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 6, 2013
Pours a clear pale amber color with a medium thin and foamy white head that evaporates steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of grassy hops and malt. Light body with flavors of herbal hops, toasted malt and a touch of fruit. The finish is mildly bitter with a short floral hops aftertaste. Average overall.
