COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our version of a Belgian Strong Golden Ale. A healthy amount of wheat gives this beer a very smooth mouthfeel that is accompanied by a fruity yeast character. Dark Belgian Candy is added to the boil which contributes to this beer’s light body and complex flavor. European hops team up with Juniper berries added late in the boil to offer a soft, subtle spiciness.

On tap, pours a clear golden color, thin white head. Aroma of sour yeast and rising bread, light to medium body, light malts, walnut and sourdough bread, dries on the finish with some vanilla and coconut. Too light for a Belgian strong for my tastes.

Bomber. Pours slightly hazy yellow. Musty, lemony, yeasty nose-more German than Belgian. Taste is more of a skunked out hefeweizen than a Belgian ale. Medicinal and skunked. Not good-pass on this. Drain pour.

Bomber from Whole Foods in Davis, CA. Pours hazy amber with a foamy white head. Aroma indeed has yeast/fruit esters. Med body. Flavor is a little light - think wheat was a mistake. However, the Belgian fruit ester stuff comes through. It’s ok, and I think I even get the Juniper. But to repeat - wheat tends to not be so flavorful as malt IMHO.

Yeast, dark fruit, bread, pepper... There’s a lot going on but it doesn’t pull together all that well.

Bottle from Corti Bros., Sacramento. Pours golden with a nice white head and a fruity aroma. There is a fruity caramel malt flavor with some banana ester and a funky candi sugar finish.

From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. The pour is a near headless orange-copper color. The aroma has those Belgian yeast notes that I love, thin roast, a little spice, and for lack of a better description paint thinner. The body is medium. The taste is not what I would expect from a Strong Ale. It is zingy like a Tripel. A slight lingering finish.

On tap at the shack for breakfast this morning! Aroma is hard to pinpoint with allergies. But fairly typical of a Belgian . Flavor is kind of grainy, with some zestyNess. The English hops blend well Not to sure about the Juniper. Very light body and thin clean palate is pleasant.

22 oz bottle from Wilburs. Golden and slightly hazy with a small dissipating head. Wheaty malty aroma, earthy, floral hops, fruits, light yeast. Pretty thin light body with little carbonation. Pretty mild flavor, subtleties of the aroma with an abrupt finish. Interesting, but pretty average overall.

Bottle. Head is initially very small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (basement), with notes of banana/gum, clove, honey, alcohol (slightly fusel). Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively/soft carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Geez, just when I was getting hopeful that CM’s bottled beers were substantially more promising than the canned lineup, this and the ESB show the usual flaws that I’d come to expect. This one looks and smells nothing like a Belgian beer...virtually no head, crystal clear, and the nose is like a strong German weissbier, pretty much a banana bomb. Thin-ish and very watery in the mouth, and without much carb to help give it any sort of texture. Completely aimless and out of character.

Gold, clear, thin white head. Aroma has floral and perfumy Belgian yeast notes, hints of juniper. Flavor of grainy malt with some honey sweetness, fruity and perfumy Belgian yeast character, subtle Juniper notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Avery Strong Ale Fest poured a clear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of straw, lemon zest, spice, yeast and fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of straw, fruittiness and light yeast with a smooth lingering fruity finish.
