Our version of a Belgian Strong Golden Ale. A healthy amount of wheat gives this beer a very smooth mouthfeel that is accompanied by a fruity yeast character. Dark Belgian Candy is added to the boil which contributes to this beer’s light body and complex flavor. European hops team up with Juniper berries added late in the boil to offer a soft, subtle spiciness.

On tap, pours a clear golden color, thin white head. Aroma of sour yeast and rising bread, light to medium body, light malts, walnut and sourdough bread, dries on the finish with some vanilla and coconut. Too light for a Belgian strong for my tastes.

Bottle:   Dark straw, bit of a dirty orange hue, large foamy white head, nice lacing.   Soft bready and fruity malts up front.   Rather flat on the tongue, way way too soft.   Just a small hint of what it could be.   Actually seems watered down.   Finishes with a very light spritzy and somewhat astringent fruity maltiness.   Yeah, this smelled decent, but wow was it thin.

Clear golden colour, a little white head. Sweet yeasty aroma with some fruit. Soft mouthfeel and little carbonation. A little bit watery feel. Taste has slight sourness to it. Sweeter than usual Belgian ales. Not bad but not very memorable either.

Pour on tap at the brewery, golden orange pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of sugary fruits, hints of cracker, lots of yeasty bread, touch of white fruit, slight spice, grass in there as well. Taste is a mix of white fruit, sugared fruits into grass, spice, slight biscuit, bready notes, finishing sweet.

22 oz. bottle. Snifter displays a cloudy gold with no head. Nose is nice with dried fruits, honey, pale malts and some sour funk. The sour funk wasn’t a bad aspect in the nose however, that was not the case in the taste. The sourness borders on infection or really old ingredients as opposed to Brett Bactria that was cultured on purpose. It’s not a drain pour but not really a enjoyable Belgian brew at all.
