COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our version of a Belgian Strong Golden Ale. A healthy amount of wheat gives this beer a very smooth mouthfeel that is accompanied by a fruity yeast character. Dark Belgian Candy is added to the boil which contributes to this beer’s light body and complex flavor. European hops team up with Juniper berries added late in the boil to offer a soft, subtle spiciness.

Sampled at Big Beers, Belgians, and Barleywines. Pours hazy yellow with a medium-low fizzy white head, low-medium retention with no lacing. Aroma is medium sweet malt, fruity esters, banana, and some earthy hops. Flavor is medium malt (grain) with grassy, citrus hops and fruity esters; low alcohol. Light to medium body with medium carbonation and a slick finish.

Tasting at Brewers Rendezvous 7/9/11. Pours a white, short lived head, over a hazy, yellow (SRM 3) body...nose is pear, apple, light banana, bubblegum....taste is grapefruit without bitterness, pear, apple....mouth feel light, carbonation high. This is a light take on a Belgian Golden Strong, meeting the style, but with out great conviction. BJCP 6/3/11/4/6

On tap at 2011 Garden Grapes and Hops at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Smell of dark sour fruits, funky Belgo yeast, and some overripe apricot. Taste was bright and , with ripe fruit, candy sugar, a light hop flavor with a lot of bitterness. Malt is somewhat fruity, but it’s the yeast stealing the show. Light dryness on the finish. Strong and assertive, but I’m not a fan of the cobbled-together flavor.
