3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark black with an orange hued head, and a full pour! Smells of wet paper, and orange flavored chocolates. This is supposed to be a coffee beer, i’m not getting it other than the finish. Flavors are roasty goodness, very light caramel, more hops(mainly pine like and light citrus) than it needs. Coffee is mildly discernable in the finish, but the bitter dominates and covers all.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Clear dark brown body with a short-lived tan head. Roast and chocolate malt dominant nose. Mild hop aroma opens up more as it warms. Bitter bakers chocolate and roast are the focus; seems semi-sweet; very toasty and a bit husky and rough. Burnt grains all over, but the seemingly dry body and cocoa powder flavor makes it enjoyable. Carbonation is medium to low, syrupiness becomes more apparent as it warms. A few swirls and it’s lost and the body seems more watery and thinner and the raw apple jelly and malt syrup flavors show through.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Corti Bros. Pours black with a slight dark tan head. Aromas of milky chocolate and coffee. Med body or better. Flavor starts with really dark coffee, followed by a smooth burnt malt. The chocolate has become only a hint of flavor. Good beer for breakfast no doubt.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Heavy black with a small thin beige head, even when poured semi-vigorously. Roasty dark aroma of a fresh bag of store-bought coffee, and toasty dark cocoa...overall the nose is a little acidic and smokey and has just a waft of burnt popcorn. Flavor is medium bodied with a general earthy roastiness, cold press coffee flavors and acidity, and bittersweet dark cocoa...kinda meh. I really wanted to like this beer but it’s kinda too smokey, not enough java buzz or chocolaty sweetness.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours dark brown with fine tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, nutty, mild coffee roast. Flavor is roasted, dark malt, mild coffe with a pleasant chocolatey finish. Coffee flavor is not particularly strong, may be disappointing to those looking for a hearty coffee stout. That being said it is still quite tasty. Soft carbonation, medium body, and a smooth texture. A chocolatey, smooth stout.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
22 oz bottle. Pours black brown with a medium fluffy tan head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet grainy malts with a little acidic coffee.
The flavor does not have a lot going on - some acidic roasted grains with a little stale coffee. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation and is a bit watery.
Overall, I had this on nitro tap and it seemed really washed out. The bottled version is sadly the same. Roasted acidic grains with no real flavors and no real coffee to be seen.

Draft poured jet black w/ creamy dark tan head and excellent lacing. Big coffee aroma. Bold coffee taste along with a good roasted malt level. Fantastic.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly lasting.
Body is black (almost opaque, flashlight tested).
Aroma is moderately malty (coffee, roasted grain, Oreo cookie, dark chocolate), lightly hoppy (grapefruit, flowers), with a note of vanilla.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Among the better offerings I’ve had from this brewery (Hookiebobb being the other decent one)...pleasant coffee aroma is strong without obscuring the malt. The mouthfeel isn’t that great, but the flavor profile is nicely balanced. Easy to like.
