Pours black with a brownish head. Nose is grain and yeast. Taste is slightly sweet; kind of a milky chocolate overtone with strong coffee notes. A light to medium bodied brew. Lively carbonation. Tasty, but a bit thin for me.

Pours a black with a thin khaki head that dissipated pretty quickly. The aroma is dark coffee, bitter chocolate, slight brown sugar. The taste is dark coffee and bitter chocolate. The mouthfeel is very light and velvety. There is some subtle underlining sweetness as well. Pretty great beer that is worth a try!

12 oz pour from room-temp can into tulip glass. Dark brown to black in color, opaque, fairly fluffy tan head. Medium body and creamy. Nose is dark malt and a pleasant coffee bitterness. Taste is a little bitter, mostly some maltiness and a strong coffee front. Leaves a pleasant echo if the main taste on the tongue. A well-done coffee stout, especially considering the relatively low abv.

Svart med lavt lys brunt skum. Røkt lukt mer mot skinke enn røkt trevirke og noe mørke bær og kaffe. Noe bitter kaffe og kakaobønner. Søtlig melkesjokolade. Noe salt.

12 oz. can at Pinball Jones’. Appearance: film tan head, good lacing, black color, opaque. Aroma: chocolate milk, roast, light coffee. Palate: full body, average to soft carbonation, bitter finish, slightly oily texture. Taste: sweet chocolate and coffee malt with dark chocolate and coffee bitter finish. Overall, ok balance, a bit over bitter though, and not quite full bodied enough.

12oz can into an English pint. Pours jet black with sparse white head. Nose of coffee and chocolate. Big roasty coffee flavour, a bit malty. A little light on the palate. Pleasant stout.

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Figueroa pint glass From: Beer Advocate’s mschantz Price: N/A Purchased: N/A; Received on Feb. 16, 2015 Consumed: Feb. 20, 2015 Misc.: N/A Thanks Mike! Poured a black color with two fingers of dark khaki tan, frothy head. Poor, spotty lacing on the sides of the glass. Below average retention. (Sight - 3.63) Smelled rich, dark roasty coffee malts, dark chocolate, dark cocoa, smoky fire, dark, roasty nuts, rich toffee and more smokiness. Felt like I was at a campfire. (Smell - 3.88) Tasted pretty close to the nose. Dark, rich coffee malts, bitter dark chocolate, dark cocoa, smoky fire, smoky wood, dark toffee and faint crayon. Could arguably called a porter as well. (Taste - 3.75) Full body. Sticky-to-slick texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 3.88) This was a nice coffee stout, although I seem to be a sucker for these. Nice, roasty and great for winter in a non-San Diego climate. (Overall - 3.75) 3.78 85 B+

Bitter coffee and bitter hops, overwhelming most everything else. Doesn’t necessarily need to be sweeter but needs something.

Can from Stock Tank Liquors. Pours dark brown with a thin brownish head. Aroma is coffee and roasted barley. Flavor follows and is mildly bitter. Body is a bit thin. Good beer. Finishes dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
