Many know the torrid history of Creemore, namely its absorption by Molson. For a while, afterward, things did indeed get off track for one of Ontario’s favourite indie lagers, as Molson foisted cheap malts upon the fine folks in Creemore, ON. I broke from Creemore Springs lager for a while (as did many, sadly), and returned just recently to find that much integrity has been restored to this wonderful beer. Pours a pleasing deep honey-gold with a fair head and nice lacing. Aroma is of rich, sweet malts. The flavor is back, if not more refined and consistent-tasting than the independant days. That of course means some of the old rough-hewn charm of this lager has vanished, but I believe a fair balance has been struck. Satisfying mouthfeel, and that reassuring feeling that you’re drinking something well-made.

Veiled dark gold color with stormy activity. Light creamy beige 2 finger head, lasting around 15-20 minutes, and creating a good amount of lacing. Flavors of sweet roasted malts, floral, caramel, noble spices, faint lemony citrus and corn. It’s bready and syrupy sugary but still very sharp and fresh. Silky smooth full body with extra prickly carbonation. Light finish with a faint lingering burnt malty and sugary feel, fresh floral and a little grassy. Overall very good quality craft, a little light and soft but highly zesty and refreshing. Goes quickly flat. Good flavors, well balanced mix. Easy to drink and enjoy.

Tap at Union Social in Mississauga, ON. Orange brassy colored pour with a wispy white head. Sweet malt, light to medium body. Not offensive.

Draft in Toronto. Minimal aroma. Looks like your avg lager (think budweiser). Flavor is maltier than plain American lagers. Overall is lacking. Seems like a run of mill macro.

Can, same label, while at Wayhome music festival. Not a terrible beer, light, drinkable, less of a metallic aftertaste than Molson, which was the other option. Still nothing out of the ordinary though. Would drink again if options were limited.

Deep bronze colour. Clear. Malty and corny aroma. Taste is lots of malt with a bit of cheese at the end.

One of my favorites. Good year-round beer that goes well with a BBQ in the summer or a pub dinner in the dead of winter. Always have this in my fridge.

Can. On numerous occasions on tap, in cans and bottles. Clear golden-orange body, medium white head with average retention, some lacing. Pleasant herbal aroma: hops, grains, apricots and apples. Taste of caramel malt, apricot jam, a touch of harsh bitter herbs, some metal notes. Due to wide availability, I find myself drinking it too often. Ok.

draft at a hotel bar near the Montreal Dorval Truedeau Buttlick Twenty Name long International Airport. Pours medium amber, translucent, thin off white head. Nose is minimal. Taste has some light bread notes. Balanced if not a tad to the sweet side. light flowers. light to medium body, pretty damn good.

Pours a very clear golden with a thin white veil on top that leaves low lacing. Nose is of corn for the most part with some light sweet barley in the back. Taste is lightly sweet and lightly bitter, could be crisper. Moderate body, moderate carbonation. Overall I assume that the recipe has changed since they were acquired by Molson a few years ago looking at the other ratings. As of now this is far from convincing. Better than most macro options but really not in the same game/league as the craft equivalents.
