pondoshuffles (141), Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario, Canada May 29, 2003 A true bock style beer that hits all the right notes. Blends the correct amount of alcohol with enough hops to hint at balance. Great dark malt background. Well done. Chevboy (37), Millgrove, Ontario, Canada Feb 6, 2003 dark red, very little head. strong flavour, bitter and sweet. I'm glad it caught my eye. Nice beer. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 24, 2003 Updated: Mar 11, 2003Very dark in appearance, almost no head.
Has a fairly bold taste, with a hoppy aftertaste. iam (369), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Jan 11, 2003 Good dark colour and malt flavour but a little too carbonated. Crit (2399), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Jan 8, 2003 Faint malt nose . Chocolate malt flavor with mild hop bite Cartoonkhaki (1149), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Dec 28, 2002 Updated: Nov 4, 2003What can I say Urbock is great. This small brewery is making some great flavoured beers. The people at the brewery are great to deal with. Very brown. And smooth. very nice.
..... Okay that's what I said about it from a past rating. Back to 2003 now. Something has changed about this beer. It's not as good as how I remembered it. It has good bitters the colour is the same however the flavour is much more lack-luster compaired to when I had it last which was when it first came out. Little to no head on it. Not much in the aroma. My rating was 3.7 I will have to lower it now. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Dec 9, 2002 Updated: Apr 30, 2003Beautiful dark colour. Almost no head. Screw top cap was a surprise. Great rich flavour. A better more agreeable malt and hops combination than I find in a number of bocks. CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Dec 6, 2002 Updated: Oct 18, 2004(500ml bottle) Now I had this beer in the 500ml format, and I don't know if it comes in any other sizes, but a screw top (the ones you find on cheap wine) just presents to me as low-quality! The taste, however, is pretty good though it tastes somewhat over-carbonated as it passes the roof of the mouth.
