Just the thing to warm the belly on a cool evening. Slightly malty aroma. Dark copper color, with a beige head. The pint-sized bottles were a good size, but it’s nice to see it in 6 pack 341ml bottles for the 2003 season.

Nice deep red-brown. Solid tan head. Mild hop in aroma. Mot much nose. Is there such a thing as a dry nose? Because that’s how I would describe this. Mild flavors. Not as good as I had remembered. Perhaps in the nine years they’ve been perfecting this, it’s slacked off somewhat. Or maybe it’s just me....

Nice ruby-brown colour with moderate head. Smoky malt in the aroma, and in the flavour where it is joined by some licorice and sweet toffee notes. Dry finish. A nice treat as the weather begins to chill.

Re-rate: Perfect head with slight brown, good last. Bottle colour. Sweet, malty nose... chocolatety, gentle sweet malt. Good mouthfeel, lasting roasty bitter finish. Not as nice as I remember. ------ watery/sweet start, moves into deep, but fairly simple chocolate flavour (caramel on the side), then a good heft of malty goodness at the end. Good stuff but not so complex. Tastes *young*, the flavours being somewhat raw, unmellowed.

Dark red/auburn, light head. Faint malty , hayish, notes of fruit and hops in the nose. The body is sweet with a bitter-sweet malt note. Good hops, notes of licorice and a touch of hops. Nice bock.

Brownish, with relatively small head, not bad aroma, simple. Flavour was the strongest part of that brew, not to bitter but nice.

pours deep reddish brown with an off white head. toffee-ish, slightly spicy aroma. rich, full bodied malt with hints of cocoa, caramel and fruit. hops balance out the sweet notes.

A little light for a bock, ruby, brown colour, touch of caramel with just a bit of chocolate. Not bad.
