Slightly malty aroma. Dark copper color, with a beige head. The pint-sized bottles were a good size, but it’s nice to see it in 6 pack 341ml bottles for the 2003 season. shorlin (373), St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada

Is there such a thing as a dry nose? Because that’s how I would describe this. Mild flavors. Not as good as I had remembered. Perhaps in the nine years they’ve been perfecting this, it’s slacked off somewhat. Or maybe it’s just me.... GregClow (2496), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Smoky malt in the aroma, and in the flavour where it is joined by some licorice and sweet toffee notes. Dry finish. A nice treat as the weather begins to chill. Sweet, malty nose... chocolatety, gentle sweet malt. Good mouthfeel, lasting roasty bitter finish. Not as nice as I remember.
------ watery/sweet start, moves into deep, but fairly simple chocolate flavour (caramel on the side), then a good heft of malty goodness at the end. Good stuff but not so complex. Tastes *young*, the flavours being somewhat raw, unmellowed. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada
