Dark brown color with a tan head, it has the aroma and the taste of caramel and malt. Not outstanding for a bock beer but good.

Poor head, brown colour, very light aroma. In mouth, very smooth, sweet, light caramel and low carbonation. In my opinion, it’s not a winter warmer as the description suggests. Not too tasty for a bock, but good.

33cl bottle, Shelburne. Deep amber colour, sweet malty flavour, some spice and hoppiness. Slightly too carbonated for my taste but a very good bock none the less.

Bouteille de 341 ml. Couleur brun foncée, peu de collet. Petit arome de malte sucré et faiblement fruité. Goût un peu riche de réglisse et faible malte rôti.

The colder the better with Urbock. Dark brown colour with some sweetness to it, but it quickly turns bitter. Fruit, molasses and possibly some licorice hiding in there. A burnt aftertaste that sticks around a lot longer than I would like.

New Review 061124 - Draught @ beerbistro: Good news, beer snobs. This product is vastly improved over the 2005 version, and it does appear to be a product that changes tastes significantly every year. Terrific off the top with the bitter kept under control, but offering up all the best elements of brown sugar and molasses malty sweetness. My first sip was all biscuit and nuttiness, and I enjoyed it. Not sure what they did, but picture the 2005 with terrific balance alongside muted sweetness and hops. Good work.<P> Original Review 060429 - Bottle: Here’s a tip - freeze the sucker for about 30 minutes, it drastically improves the flavour. Sadly it didn’t improve it enough for my taste. Pours dark with an oddly light scent. Tons going on in the flavour, but not all good. Heavy brown-sugary sweetness comes through an all-around strong, bitter brew with plenty of fruit and molasses. The bitter hits even harder near the end, and if you let it get anywhere close to room temperature it becomes unbearable. I’ve tried to like it, but it just ain’t happening. 3/2/5/2/12

Dark brown beer topped by a creamy tan head. Very malty, plummy aroma. Light molasses, brown sugar, dried plums and prunes. A bit of floral noble hop aroma in back of the sweet malts. The maltiness smells more Belgian than German. Flavour is less malty than the aroma suggests. Fairly clean tasting, brown sugar, toasty finish. Pretty tasty. Thanks Tupalev.
