I’ve had it 3 years in a row now, and everyone talks it up, but it’s thin, sour and completely forgettable. Pours clear mahogany with a thin off-white wispy head. Taste is chocolate-toffee licorice, some grain, burnt caramel malt - quite mild. Taste follows, a little sour and dishwatery - needs hops! - really has a burnt lingering taste. Mouthfeel thin but sticky - overall, a big fat ehhhh. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA

Nice looking deep amber/ruby coloring, off white head, faded into a ring around the glass. Malty aroma, some caramel, light floral hops. Flavor is mostly sweeter malt, light brown sugar, just a touch of bitterness. Medium bodied. Nice beer. ryananderson (74), Ontario, Canada

Aroma is malty with some flowery hops. Average size beige head which is mostly/fully diminishing. Flavour is smooth and malty with light bitterness. Finish is long, slightly dry, with light to medium sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Eructoblaster (1480), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Enjoyable hoppy aroma with notes of brown sugar, caramel, and dark cherries. Good hoppy taste that hides the alcohol fairly well, but that also lacks the complexity I was expecting from a Bock. Ends with a dry and sharp bitter finish. Not bad at all... DerWeg (760), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

This is a notch superior to the excellent Lager that Creemore offers, and displays an almost chocolatey nuanced malt profile with the refined classy hops taking just a supporting role. Very drinkable and satisfying, like bread in a glass. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada

Le caramel est très présent et le houblon est de soutien. Intéressant dans le style. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 13, 2005 2003: Clear dark nut brown. Head is light brown and initially well sized though mostly diminishing. Rooty earth, grape, apples cherries and sweet caramel malt hit up the nostrils in harmony though mellowed. From the sweet malts eventually come a slight vegetal kick that brings on some dryness, but still in a malty way toward the finish. Easy-going and pleasant. Light body proposes fairly low carbonation and may have lost some lust (poetic eh?)
