Lots of malt aroma, some perfumy hops. Toasted/nutty malt character and a light suggestion of alcohol underneath. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 8, 2004 I like the creemore family of beers. They’re always very clean and crisp. This one comes with a shiny nutty bronze colour and a slick white head. There’s malt, nuts and florals along with dates and plums in the flavour all whisking away gently on the palate until a dry finish. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Decent amber/bronze color, with a slim layer of off-white foam that vanishes assuredly in time. Aroma, big malt, dark fruit, raisins, plum, prunes, very caramelly, pungent and just this side of cloying.
Taste: powerful impact on the palate, brash entry on the tastebuds, sloshing around in the mouth all manner of rich, dark flavors, complex sweetness, and more than can be easily assessed. Gets pretty dry at the end, crisp, snappy, but there’s something disagreeable in the flavor, it’s just too, too much. Nothing wrong with it, just too busy, and not smooth enough to please, a little too troublesome to rank high in drinkability, and rate favorably for flavor. Good texture, though, nice, slick, substantial mouthfeel, medium bodied, medium, tasty, sweet finish.
Good bock, and halfway through I’m warming up to it a bit more, but my statements above still stand. Not what I’d pick first out of a bock line-up, but good in it’s own right.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2004 Chestnut brown, clear; virtually no head (dark yellow rim). Rich, liqueurish nose - but not much else, not very outspoken. Bitter hoptaste overlying typical bready Bockbiertaste. Taste reminds me somehow of bitter plus chestnut flour - horsechestnut? Again, not very outspoken, seems to be characteristic of this brewery. Bit sulphury finish. Quite a bit of adstringency, dry-out effect. This seems indeed a (North)American interpretation of a Bock. But why doesn’t Creemore put a bit more aggressiveness in their taste? Thanks anyway, Jeff. beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2004 Pours with a medium head and a red/brown color. Inviting aroma of malt and fruits. Nice and strong flavors of malt, fruits and caramel. Very good, I make sure to get a six pack each fall and the beer gets better for at least six months, maybe more. beanmedic (324), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 7, 2004 see this is available pretty much year round now. I revisited it and still enjoyed it - nice small white head, brown/amber body, crisp malty taste. A little bland though, but still a decent beer. Sammy (3981), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

(2004 version) More German-like quality with less carbonation noticeable. Sweet, nicer brown colour. Same overall rating.
