Light copper w/ a short lived white head. Lightly floral hp aroma at first but toasted malt follows as it warms. Lightly roasty and a hint of lactic sourness also as it warms. Malty and well balanced but bitterness creeps in and seems a little inappropriate for a bock style. Light roastiness also with a hop flavor in the finish and aftertaste as well as a little sourness as it warms. Overall smooth mouthfeel, fuller body, and light warming alcohol. Seems a little too hoppy for the style, but pretty good compared to other non German bocks.

Had this on tap at the WINKING JUDGE in Hamilton, Ontario. Pours an amber/rouge body with minimal head present. A little watery, but the taste was still great. Malty sweetness was what I was getting. Overall a well balanced beer which I imagine would be really nice after a hard days work.

fall 2003 issue. Came in the new 341ml distinctive Creemore embosed-banded long neck with an old fashon crown cap. Popping the cap produced some moderate gas venting. No best before date just a lot code. The pour produced a gorgeous Crystal clear cola-red color with a small chunky sand colored cap that reduces to a light tan lace. This bock has a visible moderate effervescence in the glass. Aroma is a subdued rasin-cinnamon-nuts with a grassy and roasted malt overtone...nice! Starts bold with an oily mouth feel as the hop astringency mingles with the pronounced toasted malty sweetness and some subtle spicy cola-date like tastes then finished up fairly thick with full roast malt-hop balance and a distinct citrus after taste...after a couple of swallows the finish is accompanied by some warming from the 6%AVB. A very nice dark beer and a good Canadianization of the Bock style....I like it. I actually like this more than Creemore lager. I wish it was available more widely through out the year. Update: 2004 release....same beautiful dark red-copper pour...frothier 3 finger sticky sand colored cap. More spice and dried fruit in the nose this year....smoother mellower body than I recall last year....this is a very drinkable bock

Small bottle: Deep red-brown color, unclouded, with a rising, but dissipating white head, and a little lacing. Aroma is slightly sour, some sweet maltiness, a little tanginess. Not the strongest smelling. Tastes mid-roasty malty, vaguely nutty, some hops, and a roasted tasting part bitter, part honey, mildy tangy finish. Medium body, a bit of carbonation. Quite nice.

Mahogany with a dense tan head. Nose is mildly spicy with malt undertones. Light bodied with malt sweetness followed by dry bitterness. The aftertaste is permeated by a lingering bitterness and warming alcohol. I did not enjoy this year's offering as much as I have enjoyed previous year's offerings.

Another offering from my favorite ontario brewery. Nice reddy brown colour, mild nose. Flavour starts of intense then fades slowly. Tastes of roasted coffee beans and chocolate. Yup. me likes it.

Pleasant enough but nothing that makes you exclaim. A beautiful ruby-copper with a creamy tan head. This somewhat thin-for-a-bock beer features light malt and caramel with a slight bitter finish. Nice.
