threesheets (11), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Apr 6, 2005 Pours dark with distinct malt aroma and definite hop bitterness. Not as good as their Lager in terms of balance but a decent beer none-the-less.
fredthecat (42), Canada Nov 20, 2008 smell is caramel malt
taste is sugary, and maple
colour is dark gold with a thick head
it is a very smooth medium beer that is definitely worth getting mullet2007 (158), Newfoundland, Canada Oct 12, 2008 Pours a deep burgundy colour with a thin off white head that disappears pretty quickly. Smell is fairly hoppy with some hints of raisin. Flavour is pretty sweet, and a little bit of dark fruits. It’s pretty bitter, but there’s not much hop flavour. It’s a bit watery, which I’d expect from a molson product. Carbonation is a bit low. Not awful, it would make an alright session beer, but it’s not fantastical, really. AWS9 (136), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Jul 6, 2008 Bottle. Dark, copper with a fair head that disappears. Very malty flavour, something caramelish in there too, though I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it tasted like to me. Kind of thin though. Pretty solid, not spectacular, though I’d like to give it another try. hiphop (84), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 18, 2008 Deep ruby brown with a fat tan head. Aroma of sweet malts and prunes. Solid malt body with caramel and toffee and a crisp sweetness. Dried prune aftertaste. Solid Bock. sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 21, 2008 12oz bottle purchased from LCBO. Pours a clear, dark copper with a big head due to a poor pour, but the head goes away pretty quickly. Little lacing. Reasonable malty aroma. Flavour is malt - and that’s about it. Finishes a bit thin. I’ve not much of a bock fan, and this one doesn’t get me any closer to changing my mind.
