3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is a good beer, but it gets a slightly lower ranking because I don’t think it quite fits the style of a true dunkel. It is not over hopped, a good thing, but the use of chacolate malt is a little over powering for this style. Solid beer, good for drinking at the end of a meal, dry enough for oysters, but solid beer.

Pretty good but not great. Not a lot going on. Gritty burnt malt palate and taste. Dark malty and smoky.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
At the brewhouse: pours black with a tan head. Aroma is light chocolate with some malt. Taste is the same. Of all their beers this was not too bad, but still rather unimpressive. Meh.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewpub on Mon, 10.07.2013. Black pour, small head. Not much aroma to speak of but the flavor was pretty straight-forward; hop profile was kind of dull and there was a bit of breadiness to it. A little bit of viscosity/milkiness, but overall easy to drink. It’s alright.
