Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold-amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, Bavarian hops, nuts, and earthy notes. Flavor of caramel malts, butterscotch, nuts, Bavarian hops, tea, and earth. Light-bodied, with a nutty, earthy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Decent beer.

SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAY 18, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark gold/light amber with a thin white head. Mild malty aroma. Perhaps a bit of stick candy. The flavor is thicker than the other beers with a medium sweetness and some moderate heat. This is smooth and drinkable for an 8% abv beer.

Decent overall, but reminded me of a watered down version of Abita Bock. The two breweries must be sharing recipes.

jsquire (2484) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - MAY 20, 2003
Banana yellow color with a thin head and a very smooth mouthfeel. Initial taste is tangy with an almost lemon flavor to it. Light in body but I found the tang a little too pungent for me. They have better beers here.

   AROMA 4/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 4/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 8/20
Aubrey (3192) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAY 1, 2003
Hazy, deep golden with a decent head, nice lace patterns. Very crisp and sharp with an overt carbonation. Curious, fruity and yeasty aroma. Dry, bitter finish.
