1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Papsoe (22987) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 14, 2006
(On tap) Hazy orangey golden with a small, off-white head. Neutral aroma, completely lacking all fruity esters. Medium body with a vague tartness and absolutely no fruit. Instead you get some fusty accents. A good Hefe is hard to brew - Crescent City misses by far. 270306

Cloudy dull tan. No head. The aroma is weizeny and the palate is wheaty, slightly tart weissebier in character. Simple but clean.

Draft... Very cloudy, straw-colored ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Good retention. The nose is full of banana and bubblegum with hints of lemon and sourdough. Very well-balanced, tangy, refreshing flavor. Underripe banana. Light-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Medium-length, tart and tangy finish. Their best offering!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jerc (5591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 23, 2012
2012-03-17. Hazy pastel yellow orange small white head. Mild aroma, sort of grassy straw. Flavour is similar, fairly bitter, grassy, straw, not very yeasty. Average to light body. Okay but pretty disappointing as I was hoping for more. Not much going on. On tap at the brewpub

Tap @ Brewery: Pours a hazy gold color with a nice white head. Clean wheat and yeast on the nose with light citrus and grainy notes. Thin mouthfeel and a yeasty finish, a bit lacking in punch, but it’s well made.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DuffMan (4427) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 27, 2007
This and the pilsener were the only untainted beers of the night. I was surprised to see this noted as a german hefe, as it came across as a nicely made American-style wheat. Hazy, pale straw in appearance with a big foamy white head. Wheaty with a mild citrus note and a slightly tangy finish. Refreshing and very nice (for an American wheat, but misses the mark as a hefe).
