I tried this beer on May 5, 2012 after being given it by a friend. The beer poured a translucent gold colour with a generous, but short-lived off-white head. The aroma was grainy malt, phenol, and cold wet metal. The mouthfeel was light bodied with medium carbonation. Primary flavour was alcohol, and quite sweet. Better than Faxe 10%, but as far as ’good’ beer is concerned, this is NOT on the list.

Can. Golden with a dirty foam. Aromas are nutty marzipan with thin tinned pineapple juice and cereal. Dusty lemon with brown sugar. Flavours are sweet candy sugar with nutty cereal and mixed tropical fruit squash. Nutty, peppery alcohol with a thick, viscous palate. Heady alcohol with paracetomol bitterness. Has a harsh chemical character. Really difficult to drink.

June 2011: Obtained from a local ’Bargin Booze’ outlet, just for joke: I was determinded to dislike it and had a bias preconception formed from trying other high alcohol canned lagers in the UK. However, I liked the damn thing! Wonderfully sunny day, and I was knackered after grafting all week: sat in the back garden I remembered this beer and thought I’d give it a go. Poured into Budweiser Budvar stemmed tulip. Lovely snow white head on top of a crystal clear golden, bright lager. Looked almost identical to the wifes Carlsberg Export, except the Carlsberg had next to no head. Alcohol esters in an otherwise odourless lager/pilsner type non-smell, I give a score of 3 for smell-less lagers/pilsners. The actual taste reminded me of a Brigand Belgian Ale, with the alcohol being a little more prominent in this beer. I also expected a nasty metalic headache type feel to the aftertaste, this didn’t happen and I was pleasantly suprised by the beer in general. Sure it had too much alcohol for my tastes, but it told me that on the tin. This a lot better than many in this class or style, honest.

LCBO ($2ish): Basically, this beer tastes not as bad as motor oil and ash trays can smell. Fortunately, I had only a few sips of this jawn and they were not pleasant, but I guess if I were a homeless Canadian I would drink something like this.

Obviously brewed by someone in a bad mood. Yellow with hints of carbonation, marshmallowy white head leaving good lace. Doesn’t smell awful, mild German hopping. Tastes primarily of alcohol charged with malt water first and last.

500 ml can from beer boutique. Given to me as a ’gift’. Clear gold, white frothy head clears up very quickly. High carbonation. Caramel, corn, sugar, alcohol on the nose. Oily. Tastes like sugar and corn. Brutal boozy finish that will repeat on you. Actual ingredients list includes corn syrup, sugar and stabilizer. This stuff is terrible. One step above medical sanitizer or just drinking listerine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500 mL can from the LCBO, served in a lager glass. Pours clear yellow with a moderate white head that fades quickly to a thin cover and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are notes of grass, pale malts, pine and citrus. The flavour is balanced between slightly sweet and slightly bitter, with grassy notes and pepper. The finish is short and peppery. On the palate, it is medium in body with a dryish texture and soft carbonation. Overall, there is nothing interesting going on here. Purely an alcohol delivery device. 2011-12-07

500ml can. pours clear yellow with a tall white head that quickly dissipates, appearance is probably all this beer’s got and the appearance really is nothing special...Aroma, offensive, somewhat malty and sugary with a gross metallic smell along with some alcohol. Taste is even more offensive. Is this named after Crest toothpaste? Would have been a drain-pour but my buddy decided to finish it, disappear into the night. Avoid this beer.

500 ml can from LCBO. Pours a clear golden orange colour with moderate-sized white head. Aroma is slightly sweet grainy malt. Flavour is somewhat harsh grainy alcohol with some light fruit notes. Not exactly enjoyable but there are worse wino beers out there.
