Weigh the Anchor, Hoist the Sails! Colossal waves and lashing winds – this was the life of the English sailors whose job it was to bring beer to Colonial India. Only an insane amount of hops and high alcohol content helped it to withstand the perilous journey. Drunken Sailor IPA brings this adventure and powerful taste to the 21st century – Ship Ahoy! Hops: Herkules, Citra, Cascade, Simcoe Malt: Pilsener, Munich, Crystal

33cl bottle, Bierzwerg. Bbe 04/13. Dark amber, thick frothy white head. Caramelly aroma with pine needles and woody notes. Flavor has bitter hops, fruits, pine and caramel malt. Smooth, easy to drink. Maybe slightly old bottle.

Bottle from flavourly.com Pours a bright golden orange with a lovely white head that lasts to the last drop. Aromas of tropical fruits (pineapple, mango, orange) with a slight caramel and black pepper. Flavour is strong pithy orange peel which overpowers the malty backbone trying to get out. Slightly disappointing flavour considering the aroma. Would drink again though! 😊

Carbonazione media. Chiude un poco secca. Una IPA buona e interessante.

Pours a hazy gold with a huge, frothy white head. Aroma of dried mango, ripe passion fruit, peach candies, very fruity at the beginning. Turns resiny and mostly herbal (rosemary, thyme). Taste is rather sweet, then delivers a big bitter kick. Lively carbonation on a syrupy, full malt body.
This is like the candy you would’ve hated as a kid, but now think is pretty interesting. At first it’s pleasantly fruity, then turns into a big, bitter bomb of spices. Bold and challenging, but on the verge to being unbalanced. Temperature can change the characteristics quite a bit. Too cold and the bitterness adds a slight metallic edge.

Bottle from Yorma’s @ central station Munich. Amber color, clear, thick rocky white head, lacing. Smell is light hoppy. Aroma of american hops, pale malts, cookies, hints of syrup, vague ripe fruit tones and resin and some charcoal-bitter. Taste is balanced, mild bitter, long lasting finish. Medium to full body, thick texture, dry finish, clean. Good GIPA..
