Pours dark amber, with a nice head. Aroma of hops, black pepper, and malt. Nice hoppy, spicy taste with a crisp finish. A nice beer.

Clear amber color with strong malty aroma. Bit of a strong yeasty taste which is way above average. Balance was very good. Taste had a bit of orange fruitiness and a nice hop bite to finish.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2005 Update: Tap at Andy’s. I would swear this has been upgraded in aggressiveness. Love the hoppy aroma and malty hoppy flavors. Much improved over first time, very drinkable and has enough oomph to keep you interested. New rating.
Light color. Clean aroma with a touch of hop. Light flavor, with a little hop note in the background. Very drinkable, but nothing there to really seek.6-5-5-3-10
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Dogbrick (6050) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 13, 2003
This wasn't nearly as bad as the cheap-looking label led me to believe it would be. Pours a clear amber color with a very thin light beige head. Little to no lacing. Light aroma of hops. The flavor is very crisp and hoppy, with a tiny bit of malt as well. The finish is borderline harsh and lasting with its hoppy bite. Slightly above average overall.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Darkover (1498) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 5, 2003
Light amber color with a small creamy beige head. Aroma is a little hoppy. Flavor of hops with a little malt. Long bitter hop finish. Thanks to Dogbrick for the trade.

Just average. Nice deep red color, but lacking in the head department. Slightly tangy at back half of swallow. Slight sharp bitterness lingering at swallow. Not much in the way of malt character.

What a nice beer. I met the brewer, Rick Reed at the brewery, and I have to say...impressive.
