Massive infection......nothing but a glass of sour-smelling tan foam with a consistency of melted whipped cream....aaaaaackkkk!!! THPTHT!!!!!! (Bill The Cat)
>>>I’ll try to hunt down another and re-rate.....figured I’d enter it anyway, I found it, I bought it, I wanted to drink it.
I’m sorry this reflects poorly on the garden state.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Pours orange with a long lasting, thick white head. Aroma is of caramel, bready malt and citrusy hops. Body is medium and crisp. Citrusy, earthy hops, caramel and bready malt fill the mouth. Finish is long and hoppy. Nice session brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a rich amber hue backed up by ruby grapefruit high lites. There is a slight haze, perhaps nothing more then chill haze.
There was very little in way of foamy head during the pour, but a thick surface lacing was always present during the session,
There is a nice balance of aromas here between sweet caramel malts and lively citrus hops.
A good tasting beer here and as in the aromatics the taste is equally balanced.
Malts are sweet and hops have a lively citrus taste. In the finish you taste biscuits and malt husks.
A good solid medium body I’d say.
Beer starts out sweet and ends on a dry note.
Not much of an aftertaste.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear amber-orange from the bottle. Noticed a layer of yeast on the bottom of the bottle, so I didn’t pour the last 1/4 inch into the glass. Thick head still there after 5 minutes. No hop aroma to speak of, but enough bitterness to balance the malt when tasting. Has a refreshing, dry crispness that makes it enjoyable enough for the price. Fills the gap between mass-produced drivel and overpriced, over-hopped IPAs. One might enjoy several of these on a warm afternoon without having to reach for the antacids. . .

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Opens with much more of a pop than I expected and I immediatly put it over the sink in case it was a gusher. The head rose up to the neck but not over. Pours all foam, :o(. Very cloudy pale-ish orange color. Sweet aroma of apple and citrus. Medium/light mouthfeel with carbonation. Fail. Terrible taste. Off notes of fruity and a slight vegetable note as well. Good job Cricket HIll!

Bottle to glass mug. Pours a copper / amber color with a sparse off white yellowish head. Lots of malt flavors going on. Maybe a smokey or roasted malt flavor. Has an acrid twinge on the aftertaste. meh.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a cloudy copper gold with a thick white head. Aroma has a strong hint of hops. Flavor is well balanced between the hops and the malt with an unusual sugary sweetness in the finish. Not what I think of when drinking an amber ale...to me it is more like a sweet IPA. This would be an excellent choice to go with spicy Mexican or Southwestern food to help cut through the heat.
