HoppityHop (87), USA Jun 3, 2007 Served directly from oak barrel, this had a citrusy nose, and was a copper color with a small light tan head. The smoky bourbon barrel flavor was very pronounced and the mouthfeel was a tad sticky. Overall, it had a nice flavor (in a boilermaker sort of way), but I think this one is more of a winter brew. Next time, I hope they try aging their very drinkable Porter in this same fashion. hophead75 (1678), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Jun 3, 2007 on cask at the brewery party 06.02.07 Lightly hazy amber in color with a small bubby head. Aroma: caramel, floral and citrus hops, notes of berries/dark fruit, wood and bourbon. Taste- pretty much the same as American ale with a good dose of bourbon and wood. Bourbon and oak is alittle too strong for this beer, as I expected it would be. Still, an interesting experiment.
