3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black with a thin tab head. Nose is extremely chocolatey. Taste follows suit with a touch of roastiness. Medium mouthfeel with a decent carb. This really doesn't taste like a lager. Nice offering.

8/26/2010. From bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Malty aromas with dark fruit. Light spicy flavors with roasted malt and fruit. Not sure why this is listed as a Vienna?

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours black with a foamy tan head that stays long. Nose is malty with hints of bready yeast. Grassy notes come through while drinking, but the core flavor profile is sweet malts. Medium body, mild carbonation.
Pretty good for a Lager. I’m not usually a fan. This is almost like a hybrid between a Baltic Porter and a Lager.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a small off-white head. Nose is quite malty with some toasting in there and a bit of caramel. Taste is light and slightly bitter, but has a similar palate as the nose. OK.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber. This is pretty much black with a thick tan head pouring on top that allows for some nice lacing. There’s a coffee roast aroma with some hazelnut nutty note, a bit of chocolate, and some oats. Smooth and easy drinking; toasted malt and grain notes mix with chocolate, earth, and a touch of sweet caramel flavor. The finish is a little ashy and bitter. The body is silky and light but not at all thin. Nothing extreme or probably all that memorable here but this is really quite solid.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Cask Republic - New Haven, CT. Stouty, toasty aroma, with a bit of yeast. Interesting, this really feels more like a rather dark Mild than a dark lager of any sort, but I’ll roll with it. The trouble here is that a really nice, balanced charred, stout malt runs up against a muddled, yeasty, minerally House and bubblegum character that sets it off a bit. Otherwise, interesting.
