Thanks to hopdog for this. I think this is a severly underrated brew! Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Flavors are a great mix of tart dark fruit, roasted malt, cocoa notes, and bourbon. Nothing dominates, just a nice blance of a lot of flavors.

Bottle, huge thanks to JCwatts. Pours out a nice dark brown color with a moderate tan head. Aroma is of bourbon, oak, vanilla, light sour/funky tartness, and mild chocolate. Taste is complex, dark toasty malts with bourbon, oak, cocoa, moderate sour tartness and a touch of alcohol. Well done!

22oz bomber goven to me by jcwatts, thanks John. Poured a good looking light black body with an average size foamy light beige head that leaves okay foam on the edge of my Cigar City snifter. Aroma is pretty good, basically a combination of chocolate and sourness, some slight dark cherry sour notes, barrel, earth, wet toast, slight red wine acidity. Fuller bodied with average carobonation and a full foamy mouthfeel after the initial swallow, very slight acidity on the end. Flavor of chocolate, sourness, wet wood, red wine, barrel, wet toast, finishes with more chocoalte. This is actually a great beer and hopefully it’s brewed again, maybe a slight touch more sour but damn good the way it is.

22 oz bottle, courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours dark mahogany brown with a one finger beige head. Not much lace, maybe a small ring. Nose full of aroma. Hints of the bourbon barrel it was aged in, roasted malt, sour cherries, brown sugar and vanilla bean. Dark fruit taste with more of the sour funk. Some typical porter flavor, light chocolate, roasted malt, a hint of vanilla. Medium bodied with a sour tartness. Very interesting brew.

Thanks to jcwattsrugger for the share on this one. Cheers, John! Pours a typical porter brown with an off-white head. Nose is bourbon, dark fruit, dark malts, and hints of chocolate and vanilla. Flavor is similar with bourbon present throughout with roast, sour dark fruit, and chocolate as well. Interesting take on a sour porter.

22 ounce bottle thanks to Hopdog. Pours a very dark brown color with a medium white head. A nice rich nose of bourbon, roast and nuts. The flavor was very good: essentially a well balanced bourbon stout with only light sour notes, some dryness, more dark sour fruit than big sourness. This was good, well balanced.

22 ounce bottle thanks to Doug. Sour chocolate, roasted malts, sweetness from bourbon maybe. This was not for me.

Bottle… Pours dark brown (nearly black) with a mid-sized, creamy, khaki head. Good retention. The bouquet offers vanilla, black cherries and chocolate. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and airy carbonation. The flavor is of cocoa and tart, lightly bitter, fruity tannins. Chocolaty, tangy, dry finish. Bottle generously shared by jyoungsbcp!
