Bomber from Frank Smith’s and Capone’s. Pours very deep blackish with 3-finger well-retained brown head. Definitely the biggest and laciest head I’ve yet seen on a beer this big. Nose is nice big dark chocolate, chocolate syrup, cacao, vanilla, roasty chocolate malt. Tastes roasty malty, with notes of cacao, chocolate syrup, mild coffee, backup hops, and a medium palate heft that waters out a bit late. Well hidden alcohol. This one was very good. This one is very under-rated.

22 ounce bottle. Thanks Andrew! Pours almost black with a nice tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, malt, and coffee. Taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, and a bit of alcohol. Enjoyed this.

Bottle at RBJG#2 - Grand Tasting Tim’s Place. Pitch black - offwhite head. Yeasty notes, metallic aroma, bourbon, coconut, vanilla, rusty, thin, nice burned, earthy, nice fresh, citrus, some grainy notes.

Deep brown, clear, tan head. Aroma: clean roastiness, underlying bready malt with light caramel. Flavor of grainy malt, light caramel, dry roasty finish. Clean and roasty. Good, if a little one-dimensional.

This had a funny, salty characteristic that played off against the traditional stout sweetness, particularly the bourbon, but was a bit at odds with the espresso side of the equation. Sweet, sticky and a tad odd ball.

RBJG2. Dark brown colour, creamy bubbly head. Aroma is bit roasty, some hoppiness. Taste is bit boozy, touch of coffee. Some sweetness. Pretty nice. Wish I had tried this earlier in the evening as I feel I might have missed something.

Dark brown color, Tons of dark chocolate and molasses with a bit of soy in the nose. The mouth is salty, with tons of dark fruit, dark chocolate. Sweet malty finish with some dark fruit. Pretty unique, but enjoyable brew

Bottle - thanks dmac! Pours opaque black with a large creamy brown head that dissipates very slowly with excellent lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, touch of anise. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet, lightly bitter leading to a bitter mocha finish. Anise present but not overpowering. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, some warming. Quite nice actually, but not among the best.

22 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma has roasted malts, black coffee, powdery chocolate with some earthy notes as well. The flavor has a nice blend of the classic roasted malts, chocolate and coffee of an imperial stout with some earthy bitterness from the hops. Just a touch of alcohol, but very drinkable at 10.5%.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a dark reddih brown color with a large frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, caramel and alcohol aroma. Moderate to heavy sweet chocolate malt flavor with a medium to heavy sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a solid beer.
