[ As Cricket Hill Colonel Blides ESB ]. Clear medium amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange, citrus and pine notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090805]

Clear medium to dark amber color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, caramel, berry, dusty, moderate to heavy hoppy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (060808)

Cask at GBBF 2010. Supposedly an ESB not an amber ale. A hazy amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a lightly bitter finish.

From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a small to fully gone head. Aroma is Fruity and slight malty. Vague cornish note. Bitter and dry into the finish. Ends dry and bitter.

Cask@GBBF2009 (as Colonel Blides ESB). Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is wood, some fruits and a bit yeastylike earthy notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Balanced, but quite boring ESB.

Cask@GBBF2008. Amber colour, small head. Aroma is caramel, hops, some mild notes of wood and malts. Flavour is wood, saltwater, earth mild grassy hops as well as mild caramel.

Cask at GBBF 2011. Hazy amber coloured with a medium sized off-white head. Fruity aroma of hops and pine needles. Fruity flavour of hops, caramel and pine needles. Sweet and hoppy finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a clear amber color with no head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma with hints of caramel. Sweetish malty hoppy flavor with hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty hoppy finish.

Cask at GBBF 2009 ....Copper ... sweet fruit little toffee nose...juicy fruits ... sweet floral ... low bitterness.

At GBBF 2009. As the ESB. Amber clear, thin lasting beige head. It’s a pretty close attempt at an English ESB. Some fruit on the malts, bit of pepper on finishing hops. Bit dusty/stale/oxidised.

Cask gravity from GBBF 08. Hazy amber. No head. Is it an alt? No not really. Too much American hop. Little bit of sourness.
