Dark Caramel in colour with rich toasty malt & dough aromas. Minimal tan head, hazy and full of chocolate dark goodness. Sweet with minimal bitterness, full bodied with a creamy texture and average carbonation. Long, caramel and bread finish.

My first selection from the Cricket Hill Brewery was a nice surprise. Smooth and enjoyable to drink, mellow and mild character. This could be a session beer.

Courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours mahogany with tan head. The aroma is dark roastiness, a bit of rauch malts and some caramelly malt sweetness. The taste is similar with dark malts heading toward a hint of burnt malts. By midway a pleasing level of rauch surfaces to keep it interesting. It ends with mild caramel to malty sweetness, a thin layer of chocolate and a sense of lager-y yeastiness. It leaves behind some dark malt roastiness. Loved it!

Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Roasty aroma with a light sweetness. The flavor has roasted malts, a bit of coffee, a hint of sweetness and some background hoppy notes. Really drinkable. I’d probably have called this a Schwarzbier over an "american dark lager".

Dark brown, clear, nice head. Aroma was light chocolate and a touch of breadiness, nice. Flavor is bread with a touch of chocolate, balancing bitterness. Very enjoyable, almost a schwarz.

Yeast and dark grain in the aroma. The flavor is clean and malty, with a bit of grain sweetness and a smooth finish. Among the best in the style, no nastiness, just simple with no bad aftertaste.

Dark brown pour with ruby red hints at the light slightly off white creamy head and lace. Aroma of roasted malt. Flavor is alot like coffee to me with hints fruit I want to call cherry though its not. Smooth even mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Clinging light bitter. I wonder what the abv is on this unit?
