12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark gold color with a thick slightly off-white head that hangs around for a while. Aroma is mostly pine hops with some caramel malt in the background. Taste is the same with a slight hop bitterness in the finish. Not bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours clear amber with a thick, fluffy, and rather persistent pale buff head. Crisp aroma is very hoppy and resiny; subtle malty and citrus notes provide support. Flavor is quite hoppy yet not at all bitter; malty and grapefruit notes peek through. Texture is fairly smooth and fizzy, average but pleasant. Maybe not exactly "hopnotic," but enjoyable.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Single 12 oz. bottle supplied by jcwattsrugger- many thanks! Was an extra in our IP trade in Nashua. Iím quite sure heís already given me this before, but I just havenít ever gotten around to rating the blasted thing. To wide-rimmed tumbler, it pours an amber orange with which a filmy off-white, quickly diminishing head 1 finger in length stood. Aromas of cilantro, body odor/gym socks, ferns, Bible paper, burnt plastic, and hop tincture. Tastes the same (minus "body odor", which can be and should be described as "sweat" pertaining to its flavor), with the addition of pine cones, DME, and caramelized onions. This is not how an IPA should taste. Bitter, strange and unpleasant. Minorly malty-sweet by mid-palate.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle from BOTW (Rochester), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear deep golden with a decent, rocky yellowish head.
Aroma: Sweet malts and buttered popcorn (diacetyl), slightly fruity and resinous, the malt sweetness borders on cloying.
Palate: Medium+ body, slightly relaxed carbonation.
Flav.: Icky-sticky sweet malts, fairly prominent diacetyl, resin/pine/pepperiness; sweet with reasonable bitterness and a dusty, sweet malt finish.
Meh. Hopnotically meh.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This is kind of backwards from the trend in IPA these days, which is to say it is really bitter and does not have much hop aroma. It is a cloudy orange brew w/ a fine-bubbled white head that leaves nice little spots of laces. There is a bit of pine-resin hops in the nose but itís mostly nutty, lightly oxidized malts. This is way on the sweet side for the style, sticky and almost syrupy w/ mild carbonation. As a form of balance, I guess, it is also quite bitter w/ a heavy earthy, resinous hop character. As you work your way through the glass, it seems to somehow get even sweeter and the finish takes on a bit of a metallic character. This does not seem to have any major brewing flaws aside from that oxidation in the nose so Iím thinking that this is just a bad recipe. If you are into really sweet and heavy beers, I could see you liking this but this is just a bad example of the style.

OCCASION: Oís/Yanks renewed, and Blatt is named new Cavs coach...APPEARANCE: light amber, effervescent body; creamy pure white head that stands firm; inviting with nice spiraling lacing... AROMA: sprucey with some citrus scents; a bit of grapefruit, apple, melon and otherwise, agreeable... PALATE: big, full-bodied presence that demands attention on the tongue and teeth; a pulsating aftertaste, almost an aftershock... TASTE: a well-balanced approach here,, with grapefruit,, apple, melon, mellow sweet malts and a bit of yeasty funk--a tasty balance...
