Inspired by the beers of Abbey Monks, this Dubbel is a caramel colored ale with understated bitterness, a full body, with notes of banana and clove with a subtle biscuity character.

8/06/2011: Cricket Hill Belgian Dubbel... Aroma: Toasty maltiness. Appearance: Golden-orange-amber color; mostly clear; minimal beige head. Flavor: Really nice fruitiness with some banana, bubblegum, subtle spice and chocolate, plenty of alcohol. Palate: Medium to medium-full body; smooth, calm mouthfeel. Overall: Very nice, BIG Dubbel.

Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Full complex fruit and candy sweet flavor with solid sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Very good brew.

Full flavored and enjoyable. An inviting balance between the chocolate malts and banana esters. Alcohol sneaks up on you, probably because it’s hard to drink it in moderation. Tastes a little young, but otherwise a nearly textbook example of the style.
