COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Naturally fermented with authentic Sake yeast using a premium blend of fresh pressed apple juice, not from concentrate, with no added malt, spirit, or grape alcohol. A racy, high-speed cider that remains crisp and well balanced. Cloudy and straw colored with an exotic polished complexity. Cho-tokkyu is clean, vibrant with an authentic dry sake nish and a distinctive apple backbone. Cho-tokkyu Artisanal Reserve cloudy hard cider is unfitered and uses racked apple wine smoothed with pure organic, gluten free, rice syrup. No added colorants, sorbate or benzoate preservatives. Best served cool to cold. As with all our Artisanal Reserves, give a full bottoms-up tilt and swirl to disperse unfiltered apple-wine sediment evenly.

Pours hazy murky yellow with no head. The aroma has dry, but full, smooth apple that has a bit of a wildness to it that may be from the sake yeast. There is some woodiness and spice. Medium body with sharp micro carbonation. The flavor starts very true to the aroma with a peppy aspect. The finish is very crisp and snappy. Really nice cider.

Pours yellow straw with a small amount of carbonation. Aromas of yeasty bread and acidity, hints of sake and rice. The sake yeast mutes some of the sweeter tones, but at the same time it makes the entire drink smoother. Apple in the back ground with a breadiness. A nice crisp drink, for 5 bucks a good deal.

Bottle. Poured a clear pale yellow color. No head on this one. Vinous nose with hints of apple, grape, and melon. Very much like white wine in flavor as well. Delicately sweet and light bodied without the alcohol content of a wine.

Bottle. Pours a milky looking yellow gold. Sweet apple juice on the nose, light sake notes as well, yeasty. Medium bodied, a light sweet rice note, definite sake touches. Sweet yeast and apples, warm and juicy. Softly sweet on the finish, more light yeast. Interesting.

Bottle. Head is initially tiny, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is cloudy light yellow. Aroma is strong notes of paint thinner and ammonia, lesser notes of apple juice and cheese. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, extremely unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, lightly alcoholic. I could only manage one sip of this. It has one of the absolute worst aromas of any so-called beverage I’ve sampled. The paint thinner and ammonia onslaught is unrelenting and positively horrifying, absolutely unbelievable. Disgusting chemical bath aftertaste. This is not drinkable. I *hope* that this is a ruined batch...seriously, someone at the factory spilled cleaning chemicals into this one, there is no other rational explanation for something this vile.

Unique nose of dry band aids, white peaches and who knows what else. Can’t put my nose on it. Milky gold, hazy at the bottom. The sake yeast appears to dry it out and balance the apple character to the point of canceling. Love the approach and the creativity. Too bad they sold to SAB

Nice dryness, but lacking in the crisp department. Nice honeyish flavor with some vanilla.
