Pours a pale straw golden with a fair amount of escaping, fizzy bubbles. Nose involves some candy sugar reminiscent of bubblegum or even laffy taffy, with a healthy dose of tart apple notes. Pretty sweet flavor, also quite tart. Light bodied, crisp, with a puckering and somewhat drying finish. An ok cider, but definitely reminds of sweet tarts. The candy elements are off-putting, and it seems as though there’s little influence from the yeast, which I’m finding I prefer.

Bottle, 22oz. An almost clear, pale yellow body, flat. Strange aroma I think, sort of candy-ish, with a spiced touch and some honey, in addition to the apples of course. Sweetish apples and some honey in the flavor, a touch of candy here as well. Medium body. Although the label says crisp, I find it rather sweetish. Not bad though, but definitely drinkable. 130803

12/01/2010: Crispin Honey Crisp... Aroma: Fresh honey crisp apples with a touch of vanilla. Appearance: Very pale straw color; low, slow carbonation. Flavor: Moderate apple sweetness; yeasty creaminess; slight bitterness in the finish. Palate: Very light; soft and gentle. Overall: Okay; was hoping that the honey crisp apple and associated sweetness would have come through more.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2013 Adventures in Not Beer continuing...pours clear and light, very much like a white wine. Aroma is very light, subtle, tart apples. Flavor is balance of tart and sweet apples, fairly light, with a background of peaches and lemon. Finishes more tart than sweet, and it lingers nicely. Well done. Tasty.
