2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Rubber and apple aroma, with molasses overtones. Muddy ochre. Overripe apples, still quite rubbery. Nice body. Light molasses finish. Very unusual cider, doesn’t appear to be particularly well made, but I like the concept.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
22 oz bottle. Slight smell of apple, with natural musty smell. Cloudy, brownish yellow in appearance. Tastes like an apple that is overripe and starting to turn brown. It lacks the fresh crisp flavors that I enjoy in ciders. Flat, syrupy mouth feel. Although unique, would not drink again.

Bottle poured into glass. Irish stout yeast with organic molasses....I’m not sure how this combo should work but it didn’t change much for me. It taste like a normal cider but with a lot less aroma. OK but nothing special

I love how crispin tries to do different things with cider without just adding a bunch of random fruit. Color is a cloudy brown cider with tons of yeast sediment flouting. No head to speak of. The aroma is apples and some burnt sugar. The taste is a fairly dry apple with but of toffee in there. Really does have a stout quality to it. Cider as a more heavy offering.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from app vintner - pours a deep amber, with smokey, oakey notes. I wasn’t feeling this one, it lost the cideriness in pursuit of trying to give it some oomph.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle courtesy Swalden28. Pours a cloudy bright orange color with a small fizz of carbonation. Aroma is a bit strange. There is a sharp aroma of gasoline right off the bat with a latent fruit aroma. The chemical notes are almost overpowering. Flavor is sharp spice, like in a pie with molasses and honey flavors. It also has a bit of a buttery mouthfeel. Im guessing the fusel aroma is a mix of the sharp spices, alcohol and underlying fruit. Strange indeed.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a dark brown color with little to no head and light carbonation. Aromas are molasses and apples. The taste is thick unsweetened molasses and slightly sweet cider. This cider was pretty foul in my opinion.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Appearance: murky and kinda dirty garnet and amber. No head after pour which is fizzy. Faint ruby glints along bottom edges of glass.
Nose: unique – not quite sure whether in a good way or bad. Sour turned apples, funk, and Brett. Molasses is heavy and almost suffocating – cooked and burnt. Malt vinegar, red wine vinegar. Acrid. Apples and fresh molasses along the edges. Leather and gamey meat. Buttery?
Palate: tastes a bit better than it smells. Molasses and malt vinegar hit hard and relentlessly in the back. Weird and quixotic – bold flavor front to back. Quick finish. Smooth buttery mouthfeel is a bit disconcerting. Oiled buttered leather. Cold day old apple pie where the crust is wet and soggy from soaking in all the apple, cinnamon, and butter. Cooked bananas. Vinegar in the breath. Touch of spritz in the middle. Gamey leading into the finish.
Final Thoughts: quite intriguing and after a long period of quaffing and contemplating, I decided not really in a good way. Even now I find myself thinking back and wondering if another try might leave a different and potentially better impression on my person…but I’m not willing to find out. There are other better Crispin ciders out there.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Cloudy reddish brown pour. Only a faint tan head. Aroma is a bit off putting - applesauce and some sort of medicinal / chemical / plastic smell. Taste is apricot, applesauce, and more of that chemical component. Not so hot.

Not pleasant. You can smell that stout yeast but then it tastes like sweet rubber. After the first taste, the aroma was messed up and smelled as hot rubber also. Maybe this is typical but definitely not for me. Flat.
