3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ElGaucho (2034) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Bottle. Smells like cider. Murky pale yellow, almost white. Thin white head ring. Subtle apple flavor. Not really getting the pilsner aspect, but almost by definition that would be a subtle flavor characteristic. Good not spectacular.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 gillagorilla (4) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 9, 2013 does not count
I’ve had all of the Crispin (and Fox Barrel) varieties, and outside of their limited edition varieties, this is one of their best.
Ar: The smell reminds me of my trip to a local farmhouse cidery. It smells like freshly mashed apples. This smells very good.
Ap: It is a very muddled, cloudy yellow-gray color. Not much else to say, since there is no lacing and no head.
T: Not too sweet and not too dry, just right. I tend to favor the sweeter ciders, which is less traditional. I like to be able to taste the apples, which come through very well. I don’t know if it is the pilsner yeast or the added apple juice, but this is delicious. It tastes like a carbonated unpasteurized cider direct from the cidery.
P: This is quite nice with its light carbonation that you feel down the middle, but other than that it is very smooth.
O: I was so glad to finally see this out by itself on the shelf and not in the variety pack. This is probably my favorite Crispin outside of the limited editions. It is much better than their other regular reserves.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 deyholla (4787) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - MAR 17, 2013
Sampled at the 2013 Chicago Cider Summit. Pours a cloudy pale gold with no head whatsoever. Aroma is a touch boozy, with sweet apple and a bit of earthy apple as well. Flavor has much more musty apple with a bit of tartness that comes out in the finish and is smooth.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 mnmike (609) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 5, 2013
Bottle pour. The pilsner yeast is an interesting twist on the cider with a more "beery" taste that I appreciate.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 unclemattie (3709) - Georgia, USA - JAN 7, 2013
22oz bottle, green & gold label. The only way to get this bottle was to buy a $15 mixed 4pk of 22oz bottles. Hazy, bright yellow pour. Aroma of sweet apple juice. Tastes of fresh pressed juice, some Pils esters of bread. Very clean, light, and refreshing. Finishes like the liquid off of applesauce. Well worth the price of the box just to get this one!(3574)
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 wlajwl (2907) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - DEC 8, 2012
Aroma is apples and a hint of a pilsner-like quality. The flavor is tart apples, mild sweetness/possibly honey, a hint of lager-like cleanness and a crisp finish.
