COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boom, Boom. A big, bold swaggering cider, blended to the edge of dangerous. An American original. An authentic American rock ‘n roll cider.

Blended 3 times, using apple-wines aged in American rye whiskey barrels – Colfax Classic apple-wine plus a “Forbidden Fruit” experimental wit-style yeast fermentation. Final blend with unfiltered fresh-pressed Gravenstein apple juice.

ABV: 6.9%

Poured Appearance: Whiskey Cloudy. Slightly opaque.

Color: Rich golden orange.

Aroma: Mild moonshine Tennessee woods, soft spicy rye whiskey, ripe apple.

Flavor: Dry, subtly spicy rye whiskey, butterscotch, faint banana & ripe apple with mild apple-skin tannins. Full bodied sexy finish.

Final Blend: 63% fermented apple-wine, 23% Gravenstein fresh-pressed apple juice.

Unfiltered & blended from apple-wine straight from the rye whiskey barrels. Give a solid, firm bottoms-up tilt and swirl to disperse sediment evenly to best enjoy whiskey aromas and unique bouquet. Best enjoyed at cellar temperature, 50/55F, with or without 1 or 2 ice cubes.

Stagger Lee is most certainly worthy of aging in your cellar.

bottle - They start with an average cider and then they aged it, which gives it some interest, but doesn’t remove the lingering mediocrity of the base cider. They need to work on their base cider. So far, their ciders all leave me with a vague feeling of disappointment and, sadly, this one is no different.

"Best cider I’ve ever had to date, hands down. Crispin is always on the forefront and this is their masterpiece. Some combo of apple wines aged in rye whiskey barrels blended with cider & Gravensteins juice. The barreling is quite subtle but leaves such a pleasant aftertaste. The apples really shine , fresh & sweet, and the abv is just right."

Bottle. Sweet fresh apple, oak and light whiskey aroma Hazy honey gold with a thin white ring. Sweet-tart apple, oak, subtle whiskey flavor. Light body, lively carbonation. I’m a sucker for apples and oak, they were made for each other.

12oz bottle pours a cloudy golden/yellow with a small quickly disappearing head. Aroma is nice clean sweet dry apples with undertones of play-doh like whiskey, a nice balance. Taste is very clean sweet crisp apples with oaky vanilla and whiskey notes, slight tart. Very pleasant, glad I sat on this for awhile it’s drinking great right now.

Bottled. Poured cloudy, brighter golden with a white head that fizzled down quickly. The aroma picked up sweeter whiskey and juicy apples, joined by a little oak.. whiskey increased toward the back of the nose.. very nice stuff. The flavor found tart apple skins and oak throughout, with earthy whiskey joining on the middle and carrying through the finish.. very tasty! Medium-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. interesting and complementary use of the barrel.. this was really good.

Two 12 oz. bottles bought at Whole Foods P Street in DC. Drank right out of the bottle, for lack of a glass at a picnic. Really lovely combination on both the nose and taste of crisp, fresh autumnal apple, touches of boozy heat, spicy and vanilla and butterscotch sweet barrel notes, and complex tannic bite. Really lovely combination of sweet apple, light funk, and spicy whiskey. Damn tasty.

Bottle courtesy of CanIHave4Beers. Thanks, Andy! Not a beer I would have sought out, but really glad to have had it. Pours hazy pale yellow with a thin white head. Nose mixes sweet and tart apples, sour wood, sugar, and booze. Some slight banana notes. Earthy. Taste shows more of the whiskey and adds some tart apple peel. Lively palate.
