True to its name, Cristal tastes at first almost like spring water; then comes a clean bit of hop bitterness; and a crisp, finish. It is a beautifully refreshing beer, lightly cleansing on the palate, with the appetising dryness that define the Pilsener style. Cristal pours with a very creamy head, leaving excellent lacing. Serve it lightly chilled as though it were a good Chardonnay.

Best Belgian pilsner. Very fresh taste. Better then Stella Artois or Jupiler

From bottle it’s usually acceptable. They have it on draft in a lot of bars where I currently live, and I still have to drink a proper Cristal Alken from draft. From draft it’s watery with a slight bitter note and a lot of metallic taste. Pretty disgusting. It makes me have a headache before I even get drunk.

Cool yellow colour, sweet taste, lacking distinct flavour profile. Slightly stale aftertaste. To be enjoyed if very cold. Bland, uninteresting taste when compared to similar Belgian pilsners. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(bottle, 25cl) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond and firm mid-sized foamy head. Strawy and delicately grainy pale malty aroma with a slightly dusty touch and a tinge of grassy hops. Mildly sweet and delicately tart flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Doughy and strawy malty taste with shy grassy accents; mildly sweet and shy bitter finish with hints of sour dough in the aftertaste. 05.X.13
