Chriso Shindig Aug 2009. From a can and tasting of tin. A drinkable and refreshing everyday lager. No off flavours, nothing offensive. Like water, but just that bit better!

At Chriso’s pre GBBF Shindig ’09. From a can. Pale gold. Virtually no aroma. Metallic, slightly fishy taste. Didn’t like it.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2009 When drinked from the new super-chilled taps that the brewery of Alken-Maes has invented, it’s one of the most enjoyable Pilsener-beers I know. It was the first beer I ever drank, so I’m pretty much as biased as you could get. It doesn’t have a lot of taste, but drinks away pretty well.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Shared this with Oldrtybastrd. This poured a pale golden with a little white head. This had a little skunky aroma but tasted good for what it is.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottled, pasteurised, 250ml from BEERmerchants, Kent.
Pale gold with white head, carbonisation. Quite a sharp, tinny start to this, a breadcrust malt with a yeasty background. Cleans up after a while and sharp citric notes come through with a dry bitterness. Not disastrous unless you are stuck with the early flavour.
