2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
I bought a six-pack during a visit to Banja Luka at the brewery (Banjalučka pivara), very cheep - great price! Not nearly black as it’s name would suggest, it’s reddish-brown, transparently clear, tan head, some lacing. Nice, kind of rich malty aroma, toffee, but the taste is to sweet, artificial, some coffee aroma in the finish. Light and flat, low carbonated, but easily drinkable. Shalow and empty after a while. If it tasted better, one could drink a few of these, in this case I’d say try it, but don’t expect much.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 0,33L. Clear amber-brown colour with pritty big light brown, mostly lasting head. Aroma is maybe the weakest point of this beer, but still, some caramel, roasted malts, herbs and grass. Light sweet caramely taste at the start turns into a moderate bitter aftertaste. Medium bodied, oily beer with soft carbonation. Nice, drinkable beer. Probably one of the best in area, if not the best...

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
13/11 A 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Marko, thanks for sharing! It poured clear brown-reddish body with medium sized ocher head. Weaker caramel and soy aroma. Lightly sweet flavor, caramel malts were dominating, while coffee gave distinct bitterness and acidity. Some raisins as well. Thinner in body with longer coffee sourish finish. Not really good, but still better than other pale lagers of the area.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Whoo, I guess this one is courtesy of Miloš? Argh, wish I could remember, in any case, thanks! Poured a lovely amber/dark red/brown body with a big offwhite/tan head. Grainy nose, soy sauce, sweet. Light coffee. Ashy taste, medium sweetness, dry, nice, caramel, plantain candy? Hmm, definitely not bad.

Bottle from meeting in Martin, Slovakia. Brown body, creamy head disappeared fast. Grainy and roasted malts aroma. Flavor was not so powerful. Light tones of roasted malts, some coffee. Easy for drinking. Quite drinkable dunkel.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to luttonm for the bottle! Never would have found this one without a good expat friend. Ruddy cola brown pour, with a mid-sized light tan head. A slightly skunky overtone covers an almost tart, and markedly smoky nose. The flavor starts off with a blast of beef jerky -- like a sessionable rauchbier. The smoke fades, and the aftertaste is (oddly enough) something I remember from childhood -- a mouthful of slightly dirty snow. It’s a bit dusty, with a tinge of tinny cola. Interesting, for sure -- entirely drinkable.
