Bomber. Thanks to KyotoLefty. Yeasty nose with dark sugar and something like cinnamon. Dark brown with a thick rocky head. An immediate clean malty sweetness. Gets rough and playful in mid palate, also a bit down and dirty. Lightly metallic. Finishes with a small fruity perfumey note. Medium body. Very interesting flavor changes throughout the palate.

Bottle. Cloudy dark brown with a tall, fine head. Nose of chocolate, caramel, fudge, raisins, plums, spices. Roasty chocolate flavor, lots of brown sugar. Goes from very sweet to super spicy bitter. Tiingly, spiritzy and light-ish body. Ends very spicy, almost like chili peppers. Decent.

from bottle at mondial 2014, mtl. unclear light brown pour, orange tint, with a nice slightly creamy beige-orange cap, some retention and lacing. burnt caramel, sweet toasted malts, booze - fusel too, some fruitiness - plain raisins, fairly spicy too, sweetness - brown sugar, cola and wort, iron traces. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily, short grassy-spicy finish. unconvincing dubbel or belgian strong.

My Bottom Line:
Nutmeg and star anise surge atop this Christmas-y brew, as fruity undertones and prickly effervescence enhance the festive approach.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the purplish brown.
-The yeast character is overthrown by the spiciness.
-Malts do contribute some raisin-y sugars.
-This is a very professional brew, but it is too spice-laden for my tastes in Dubbels.
