Pours black with a nice fine tan head. Smells a bit like a lager with old coffee mixed in altough not unplesant. Taste is thin and coffee ok but not deep or roasty. ok

Cask Half Pint at Cask Pub, Pimlico, London in Feb 2014 - Very Dark Brown in colour. Slight tan head. Malty; lots of milky roast coffee, roast malts, caramel, some chocolate. Fruity; hint of berry fruit. Sweetish milky roast coffee and roast malty throughout. Deep roast coffee into the finish. Tasty for relatively low ABV. Very drinkable.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Bristol Beer Festival, March 2014. Near black with a slight tan head. Big, roasted coffee beans, some dense malts, a hint of dark fruit and lingering dry finish. Very good.

Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is huge coffee, roast, liquorice etc. Flavour is medium bitterness with loads of coffee, some roast, liquorice and more. Nice one.

50 cl bottle.
Pours almost black color with a reddish tint on the sides and small off-white head. Aroma is quite nice and sweet with milky chocolate, coffee is there too but not overly powerful, faint vanilla on the background. Flavor is also smooth and chocolaty, vanilla, some toasty malts and cocoa. Very smooth and tasty.

On cask at Craft kitchen. Appearance: pitch black, medium tanned head. Aroma: a little coffee and chocolate, some spice. Mild. Flavour: coffee again, quite mild with a nice lacing of chocolate and wood. Short coffee finish.

Bottled 500ml (AbM)
Deep ruby color, small steady beige head. Coffeish-ashy nose. Light-bodied. Toasted malty, tobacco ashy (from coffee?) then some licorice in the finish. Tobacco ash is not my favourite flavor in beer but behind that, it is decent light stout.

Cask at Cask P&K. Thin black pour with a red tinge, bubbly beige head endures a couple of minutes. Smell is rich espresso initially, but this is harder to pick up later on. Body is thin, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is watery malts with a stronger coffee presence. A touch of vegetable and drying resin in the background. Ultra drinkable. Watery but tasty nonetheless. My pint disappeared in seconds flat.

erickok (3185) - Tours (and Paris), FRANCE - FEB 5, 2014
Dark bodied, with frothy head. Coffee? Not quite so much for me, but it is nice aromatic for the abv. Unique to, with toffee and cacao notes, but also a Vienna like bready bite. Taste is as expected, which is a good think, and reveals a well developed yeast underlying the juicy tasty malts. Hops are always there to support. Very pleasant carbonation that keeps you sipping. Very nice accessible and well made. (50cl bottle from La Cave à Bulles)
