3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Fyne Wines, Argyll. Rich lemon-gold with a few bubbles & lasting solid white head. Aromas of hay, lemony-hops, light bitterness, very gentle malt undertones. Medium body, soft spritz, gently acidic finish, dry. Citrus leads the palate (though with low intensity), gentle nectarine & honey follow. A very well balanced session ale with light hop and light malt character, light flavours also. "Gentle" is the word!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at The Bishop Langley, Durham.
Golden with only the thinnest, off-white head as it was poured inexpertly by a barman on his first ever shift. Ever without a head the aroma was muted, although some sweet floral and tropical fruit notes are there if you look hard enough. The taste is altogether rather different, dry verging on sour with some grainy, leafy, wooden character. It’s a reasonable beer with some sharp, interesting flavours but it lacks drinkability and is marked down as such.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A clear deep golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of grain, slight orange, subtle grapefruit and grassy hops.
Taste of orange, some grapefruit, a little grain, slight toasted malts and grassy hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A grainy finish with a soft, grassy hop bitterness in the finish. This beer is overtaken by the grainy, toasted malts but decent citrus and grassy hops through well at times. Had potential but quite bland for this brewery.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the Bow Bar, Edinburgh. Dark gold or light copper. A good white head leaving behind some impressive lacing. Juicy orange, grapefruit and peach dominate the hoppy aroma, but there’s a grainy malt backbone in it is well. Bittersweet at first, with sweet juicy lashes at your tastebuds, ending with a bitter finish. Pleasant smooth palate with a fuller body than most low ABV beers.
