2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 GT2 (3960) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 14, 2012
Tap at Fermentoren. Pours a low haze amber with medium carbonation. Webby lace. Rocky retention. Thick, creamy foam. Sticky candy nose, cherry juicy juice, strawberries. I don’t think this brewery knows what beta acid hops are. Taste is bread, oversteeped lemon tea, oversteeped hotel coffee, mallic/tartaric acid. Palate is soapy and astringent. Tannic, husky. All of this brewery’s beers have the same brew flaws. Need total recipe reworkings.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - MAY 6, 2012
Draught at Fermentoren, Copenhagen Cloudy copper color, creamy head. It has a very nice, fresh, fruity aroma; apricot jam and mango; followed later by a yeasty and manure touch. Lean and drinkable body, with a good malt caramel and toffee flavor; the malts provide a light residual sweetness, and the hops a certain resiny and fruity touch; but I find the bitterness exaggerated, therefore creating an unbalancing effect. In the end it gets difficult to stand in big quantities, although it’s a very good beer. Rough.
