COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A very approachable porter with a nice blend of chocolate and coffee notes and a subtle flavor of Northwest hops. A definite favorite around the brewery and a perfect partner to a hearty steak dinner.

Aroma of chocolate malts and dark roasts. Tastes of dark chocolate. The roasts are the highlights in this beer. Which is as is sould be. Great beer.

Draft. Strangely enough, it does have a little pasture (almost manure) smell! Not strong though, and not detracting. Very dark color, with little head. Nice, clean toasty flavor. I like it.

Poured from a 12 ounce can, thanks Mike. Caramel, roasted malts, chocolate, malty. A solid porter.

Bottle:   Soft roasty Porter, low bitterness, smidgen of chocolate and pasture.   Very soft example, not a hoppy PNW example.   More malty, yet its pretty soft.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Finishes a little light, soft chocolate notes, pale roastiness.   Wished it were a bit bigger, but the fact that its not too hoppy seems to keep it in balance.

Bottle at a bottle share. Pours a very dark brown color with a moderate tan head on it. Nose is very roasty, and smells like a rather typical porter. Taste is actually slightly bitter with a fair amount of roasting in there - slight coffee flavor to it. Easy and light, and quite enjoyable.

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Lagunitas mason jar From: Whole Foods in Boise, Idaho Price: $8.99 for a mix and match variety 6-pack Purchased: Dec. 19, 2013 Consumed: Dec. 28, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured an almost pitch black color with 3-to-4 fingers of tan head. Random spots of below average lacing on the sides of the glass. Average retention. Smelled dark chocolate, cocoa, faint coffee, fudge and chocolate milk. That’s about it. Tasted like a darker, earthier version of the smell. Got cocoa, chocolate, dark fudge, chocolate milk and just a smidge of coffee notes. Medium body. Creamy-to-oily texture. Soft carbonation. Long, smooth finish. A decent porter. It had some moments. I’d try it again.

Tap at Boise Fry Co. Dark with medium beige head, lots of roast grains and espresso bitterness. Smooth with a little bitterness on the backside.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma has some chocolate and roasted malt notes. The flavor is full of the same notes with some dark chocolate character really standing out. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice porter.
