2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
off white head.... good retention and lacing... the brew is a hazed amber... not the right color... but let’s hope the smell and taste are more in the wheelhouse.
Nose is "hoppy", I guess... but instead a toasty malt aroma dominates with with bits of caramel that seem out of place.. hops sorta fall flat.
Decent hop bitterness... a bit of hoppiness mid palate that gets drowned by out by the malt character... again pretty heavy toast and some lesser caramel.... I guess I get a bit of floral hops... but I could be wrong.
Body is thick for a low abv pale... needs work... and honestly very expensive.... I will not revisit.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz can. A pretty straight up APA, fresh and drinkable enough. Slightly hazy amber tan brown body. Foamy off white head. Respectably hopped, in a sort of classical way...in other words no new school tropical tones or any of that. Solid offering overall, teeting into IPA territory.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazy orange amber color with a one finger head of thin white foam. The head fades relatively quickly leaving just a trace of wispy lace on the sides of the glass
Smell – The aroma is rather bready and fruity with the fruit being a mix of orange and tangerine. Along with these aromas comes some light yeast smells as well as a good showing of a grapefruit and pine hop smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather dry cracker/bready taste mixed with a little hint of caramel. Right from the start there is a decent showing of a grapefruit hop taste with this getting stronger as the taste advances. A pine works its way onto the tongue toward the middle to the end of the taste ramping up the overall hop taste rather well. With the yeastiness that was detected in the nose coming at the end of the taste, one is left with a rather drier and fairly nicely hopped flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather thin and light for a pale of 5.5 % abv with a carbonation level that is a bit on the higher side. For the drier tastes of the malt and the hop blend of grapefruit and pine the feel of the brew is quite nice overall.
Overall – A nice drier pale ale with a good hop hit. A good brew overall.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours hazy amber, short head. Aroma is light citrus hop and a little malt. Taste has a good body, a little off flavor in the bitterness. Very drinkable otherwise.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Part of an IPA/APA tasting, full pour. Yellow/orange with tall creamy head. Smells of gym socks (not kidding), some cookie/dough notes, hay, faint pineapple. Taste is sweeter than expected with lots of malt overtaking any hop qualities I was looking for. Not my favorite.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle:   Somewhat of a nutty malty Pale Ale, low on hops, a touch of biscuit.   Seems a little musty or dirty.   Not too bright.   Moderate sweetness.   Backside gets more nutty and biscuity.   Seems like a minor Pale with a little Brown and Amber.   Tiz okay, but not quite the Pale Ale in my book.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can. Good aroma of citrus and a hint of pine. Medium/light mouthfeel, with a fairly bitter finish. The malty backbone is fairly robust and a bit earthy/dusty.

Type: 12-oz. can
Glass: Stone Ruination IPA pint glass
From: Whole Foods in Boise, Idaho
Price: $8.99 for a mix and match variety 6-pack
Purchased: Dec. 19, 2013
Consumed: Dec. 22, 2013
Poured a caramel honey murky color with two fingers of khaki white head. Sporadic uneven spots of lacing along the sides. Good retention.
Smelled wet Cascade hops, Irish Spring soap, floral hops, pine, lime and some buttery caramel malts.
Tasted slightly different than the nose. Got buttery malts, lime grass, honey, grass hops, soap and caramel.
Light body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Buttery abrupt finish.
Didn’t really like this one at all. Would not have it again on purpose.
