When the lights dim, the curtains pull back, and the Beledi starts, it is time for a Mystery Romp! This mocha colored ale, infused with chocolate and coffee, can best be described as a tasteful dance between a robust porter and a rich stout.

Mystery Romp is a recipe that was a 5 yr evolution. Not that she was ever not a good beer. But, like any fancy lady she just always needed a little more. This porter has a gorgeous color at all stages. When brewed the swirl of earthy brown color dancing within the foam is picture worthy. When properly poured this beer vibrantly bubbles and sings. And as planned in the glass she is dark and mysterious. The smell of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate make her irresistible. This porter is Wandaís baby. Being a coffee and chocolate addict she probably went a little mad and over the top with this one. Surprisingly people besides her liked it, which makes us smile.

Bottle as an extra, thanks! Pours opaque black with a medium brown creamy head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is solid roasty, coffee, chocolate, a bit of ashtray. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, somewhat acidic and odd, seems like coffee has gone stale here. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel.

If this had the mouthfeel it would be awesome. Still good but very quick head. Nice coffee chocolate flavor. Sweet kinda thin on the tongue. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours very dark brown/black with a dark khaki head. Aroma is heavy dark chocolate, hot coacoa, roasted malt. Flavor is lighter than aroma but follows suit. Medium-light body. Creamy texture. Very good, solid porter, chocolatey delight.

On tap at the Avenue Pub. Dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma is very straightforward. I get some huge coffee notes and nothing else, but that is not a bad thing. The flavor is also very coffee forward with the addition of some cream and a hint of chocolate thrown in. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice beer.

This porter is unlike anything I have had. It doesnít taste typical like regular or imperial porters/stouts, but thatís what I like about it. It has a very strong coffee taste with a lot of hints of chocolate. When I find this beer at a bar I always get it.

Draft at the source, courtesy of staff and volunteers, thank you gentlemen! Deep maroon brown color, thick beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of burnt espresso, fine Sambucca, rich unsweetened cocoa. Taste is burnt toast, licorice, raisins, dates, burnt coffee. Delicious.

Drank it on tap - super chocolate, super smooth. Milky, I dig it and I'd do it again.

Best. Beer. Brewed.in Mississippi. Not sure how they did it, but this little place hit N. Mississippi with a bang bringing this up. So welcome to have on tap around here. To me, it leans more sweet stout, but whatever they want to call it is good with me. Aroma of chocolate malt balls with a dark brown nearly black pour with a tan head. Milk chocolate, caramel, medium bodied, with a nice long finish.

Excellent beer, great coffee aroma, but not too overwhelming. Great flavor. Nice cocoa colored head. Canít say enough about this one.
