COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Old world Munich helles lager brewed with Munich and Vienna malts along with Saaz and Hallertau hops for a deep golden color and malty flavor. This style is not intended to be hoppy, the accent is on the malt in a ture helles lager.

Rather disappointing. Maybe a bad sample. The body, though substantial, seemed to carry with it a overwhelming buttery flavor which I despise. Fine-looking beer, but once its clothes are off, it’s fat and ugly.

bottle - Pours yellowish and hazy with fine suspended yeast and a very thin head. It smells of yeast and a trace of citrus. The flavori s yeasty and malty. It’s light and avoids being too watery, so it’s a decent warm weather quaff but not something to seek out.

Medium gold color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is bready malts, with a touch of sweetness. A medium bodied Dort/Helles. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are mild and slightly spicy. Light and refreshing. Crisp and clean. Mild flavor. Good lawn mower beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

12 oz. bottle Just plain... unimpressive. The hop fragrance is slightly stale, although I can pick out the Hallertau. Quite thin, pale yellow, the sudsy white head diminishes rapidly - altogether lager-like. Certainly drinkable, and certainly acceptable, but doesn't quite make the grade.

Light amber in color, small head that disappears quickly. Smell: average... this is beer, not liquid gold. Something funky about the taste. Reminded me somehow of eating stale pizza crust. Not horrid, but not my glass of beer. Mouthfeel was funky, almost scratchy... dunno how that can be, but whatever, that was my reaction. I'm no gonna drink this beer again, I don't care if it local. It's drinkable, but not worth it.

Deep, lightly clouded amber pour with a nice off-white head. Aroma contains malt and slight hops as well. Smooth, somewhat citrusy yet slightly bitter taste. Very crisp finish. A fine brew by Crooked River!!

A nice average Helles, with a malty flavor and a clean finish. Actually, it tastes to me like their excellent ESB minus any bitterness. Locally brewed so it's always fresh. It doesn't floor me, but all-in-all a solid beer.

This sure seemed hopped up for a lager, even if it's not intended to be. Has a smoky flavor and smell, which wasn't bad, but not great, either. Thought it would finish badly, but it actually finished quite nicely. OK stuff.

Not bad, but nothing extraordinary to note. Tastes like many other lagers that I've had. Decent.

Great looking hazy golden colour with a nice thick white head. The aroma is very nice, with malty characteristics along with some english smelling hops and even some lemon thrown in the mix. An above average beer from the sight and smell alone. A thin taste with a good balance of malt and hops, but it was a bit watery. Some of the citrus from the aroma went into the taste and palate of the beer, but it was very subtle. The aftertaste is decent, but not very strong. Overall, the beer looks and smells better than it tastes, and evaluates to an average beer for the style. Worth a try if you are in the area where it is offered (which happens to be here in the Washington suburbs :-). I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia.

When poured into my glass, this beer had a medium sized white head with small-medium sized bubbles that was long lasting. The body was hazy with some carbonation observed and the hue was golden. I found the nose to be somewhat complex as I could not conclude what the nose was. The lacing with this beer was good on the sides of my glass. The flavor of this beer was malty and it had a smooth mouthfeel.
