What a wonderful surprise. Never had any beer from Crooked River and I was impressed to no measure,... Well some measure. It poured dark and thick. Great thick creamy head and an aroma of chetnuts and nutmeg. An aftertaste similar to Pete’s winter brew but far better. And a very warming affect. There is a fair amount of malts but not enough to really dull the alcohol taste (One that I think is far underrated) which seems higher than 6.7%. A masterful beer that should be on every man’s/woman’s Christmas list.

Thick, Heavy, very complex taste, anise possibly present. I have had this a few times around Chirstmas and it is not my kind of beer, but does have a unique taste..... Somehow I think of chartruse when I have had it, very large head, nice malt finish, great egg-nog substitute.

Very good beer for the cold weather. Very malty and smooth. Nice head that disapates into a good lace. Dark amber in color. Very slight notes of spice, probably nutmeg?

Dark brown, some mulling spice, slightly sticky, some alcohol aroma, foaming on the tongue, carmel, hints of paper, some pepper

Seemed much in the same vein as Anchor’s Holiday offering, but it seemed to lack the richness in malt that made this year’s Anchor OSA appealing to me. Cinnamon and nutmeg are definitely here, in abundance, but not much in the hoppy department.

MMMM! Good! For those who enjoy winter ales, this one is a sweetheart. Brewed with eight malt varieties, this beer has a very full body. Nice aroma hops and some spicing that adds just the right touch. Beautiful deep red color. Gotta love it.
