Tap at the barrel cellar - cloudy gold - frothy head - nose has a nice mix of mild spice (nutmeg, all spice), earthy squash (pumpkin, butternut) and earthy yeast funk - all are mild but well-integrated - soft carbonation - full mouthfeel - flavor is much like the aroma - very nice integration of spices, earthy squash, and mild funkiness - I really enjoyed this - when Chad nails it, he really nails it - too bad beers like this are few and far between.

Bottle. A strange one put still tasty. Hazy with just a touch of carb visible around the edge. Potpourri nose with hints of oak and brett behind. Taste is similar to Surette with some of the holiday spice showing up. An interesting drink and a solidly executed Crooked Stave weird beer but not one I’d rush to buy again.

Tap at the brewery; GABF weekend, 2014. On my second visit to the brewery, the Sunday after the festival. Dry and herbal. Full flavor with wild yeast. Lightly sour, some spice. It is dry and earthy, not sweet at all.

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a hazy orange with small frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong brett, floral, citrus. Thin mouthfeel with strong brett, oak, citrus, tart finish, very good.

this one was weird, spicy around on a strong tart beer doesnt really do it for me. Good cinnamon and nutmeg then lactic sourness. Meh.

bottle. appears more hazy than the regular surette with a pale gold color and a small white head. aroma is slightly sweeter with the same coiny note on the tip of the tongue and licorice/anise-like spice character. flavor has a minty coolness, licorice/anise note on top of the apricot skin and cereal malt base beer. dry as usual.

375ml bottle in a stem glass. Pours hazy amber/golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of light tartness, some herbs and floral notes, light spices, some pale and light caramel malts, and some hints of light fruits. Flavor the same but I feel the herbs and spices take away from the base beer. Average texture. A decent beer but could be better without the added stuff.

Pours hazy orange. Nose is quite lactic, but with strong notes of oakwood and apple. The flavor is nicely sour apple and reisling, with the barrel adding some background depth. Delicious.

Bright fruity aroma, like a fortified white wine, autumn leaves, spices, brett. Dry, tart flavor, just the right amount of sour, juicy. Perfect fall beer. Terrific.
