Copper colored with an off-white head. Super-floral perfume-like aroma, though somehow sterile (reminds me of a band-aid). Lightly sweet with hints of fruit.

Tap. Pours hazy yellow-gold with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is huge Brettanomyces, smoky nose, funky and tart, light citrus, lactic, fruity esters, vinous and oak. Flavor is popcorn, butter, cereal, and not much else. Light body, low warmth, medium carbonation. This was a big disappointment following the nice aroma.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2011 Tap at Euclid Hall - more of a BdG than a Belgian ale - deep copper pour - lightly estery nose, with dusty yeast, lightly toasted grains and lavender/wildflower notes - well attenuated - the richness of the Munich malts remains, but most of the sweetness is gone, leaving a biscuty malt profile on the palate - light cobweb - lavender and toasted wheat on the tail end - a subtle hint of peppery phenols in the finish - a touch of white wine character - understated and delicious.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 onceblind (2532) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 13, 2011
Pours a deep, rich amber, with a frothy white head. Looks beautiful. Smells great too. I’m getting lavender, honey, and some ginger. Taste is soo what I expected, but with a crisp, light "sessionable" body. I couldn’t stop sipping it! Big aroma and flavor, but easy going and "polite". Perhaps the first light-bodied brew I’ve enjoyed this much. Taste was winter-spicey, with a dose of honey and a light kiss of floral hops. Stupid good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 adnielsen (6174) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 16, 2011
On tap @ Funkwerks. Pours a ruby red-orange appearance with a light cream head. Slightly spicy, coriander, Belgian yeasty, orange citrusy, medium dark malty nose. Coriander, light lavender, slightly floral, light to medium hoppy, light woody, smooth Belgian ale flavor. The lavender an coriander are done very nicely and not over the top like a lot of brewers tend to do. Smooth, velvety mouth feel. Lightly spicy, floral, mildly hoppy finish. Solid beer.
