COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Good Glory is a spring inspired Belgian-style beer, produced as a collaboration between the Euclid Hall beer experts and Crooked Stave. The use of rich Vienna and Munich malts gives the beer a dark copper appearance with a light malt character, suggesting that winter is almost gone and summer is right around the corner. A special Belgian yeast creates plum and dried fruits on the nose with a subtle hint of spice complimented by a touch of hops and a delicate lavender aroma.

Note from the brewery: -The beer was originally put on tap at Funkwerks as Crooked Stave Poudre Foeder Biere, and at Trinity Saison fest as Crooked Stave The Slayer.

Copper colored with an off-white head. Super-floral perfume-like aroma, though somehow sterile (reminds me of a band-aid). Lightly sweet with hints of fruit.

Tap. Pours hazy yellow-gold with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is huge Brettanomyces, smoky nose, funky and tart, light citrus, lactic, fruity esters, vinous and oak. Flavor is popcorn, butter, cereal, and not much else. Light body, low warmth, medium carbonation. This was a big disappointment following the nice aroma.

On tap at Funkwerks poured a hazy gold with a small lasting white head. Aromas of horseblanket, citrus, straw and earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of horseblanket, straw and light fruittiness with a crisp dry lingering funky finish.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2011 Tap at Euclid Hall - more of a BdG than a Belgian ale - deep copper pour - lightly estery nose, with dusty yeast, lightly toasted grains and lavender/wildflower notes - well attenuated - the richness of the Munich malts remains, but most of the sweetness is gone, leaving a biscuty malt profile on the palate - light cobweb - lavender and toasted wheat on the tail end - a subtle hint of peppery phenols in the finish - a touch of white wine character - understated and delicious.

Pours a deep, rich amber, with a frothy white head. Looks beautiful. Smells great too. I’m getting lavender, honey, and some ginger. Taste is soo what I expected, but with a crisp, light "sessionable" body. I couldn’t stop sipping it! Big aroma and flavor, but easy going and "polite". Perhaps the first light-bodied brew I’ve enjoyed this much. Taste was winter-spicey, with a dose of honey and a light kiss of floral hops. Stupid good.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2011 phenolic and estery nose of rose petals, perfume, dried strawberries and oak. low acid, medium-low carbonation and medium to heavy syrupiness result in a flabby and weak structured body. mild floral wood flavors. watery texture. boring and lacks depth.

On tap at Funkwerks with Carla, Andrew, Natasha and Mark. Pours a reddish hazy brown with tan foam. Smells sweet of tootsie rolls. Full of conflicting flavors with hints of chardonnay, oak, pepper and ends with lavender.
