3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Farmerís market tasting tick.) 375mL bottle, purchased at BeerCraft. Pours a bright golden color; fine-bubbled white head. A touch of a rubbery brett off-note in the nose; lots of tropical fruits; citrus pith. Funky phenols throughout. Medium body; a nice citrus bitterness, along with vibrant tropical fruit brett character (and, again, a touch of rubber; best I can describe; phenolic in nature); long-lasting bitterness in the finish; lingering astringency.

Pale straw, hazy, white head. Aroma: grainy malt, lemony acidity. Flavor: citrusy-lemon hops, very clean for a 100% Brett beer, bright, clean hop character, some fruitiness, tart notes. Nice.

Cloudy, dull orange pour. 1 finger head, which dissipates to a thin lingering cap. After a moment in the glass, delicate, perfumed citrus rind and floral aromas arise and dominate.. Lemon peel, orange rind, yellow and white florals, etc.. with integrated layers of dusty, earthy Brett. On the palate.. Similar layers of delicate citrus rind, florals and Brett. Dry, yet juicy and mouthwatering. Very nice! Lingering finish of freshly peeled citrus rind and dry, mouthwatering Brett. Mild bitterness. Velvety, lively carbonation. Super easy to drink.. And very refreshing. Solid example of a Domestic Belgian Pale Ale. Overall, delicate, flavorful and balanced. Recommended.

Tap at the barrel cellar - originally entered an update to my rating of the first batch, but as this does not appear to be aliased, I will now enter here - has all the lovely, musky and tropical Brett character of the original, but much spicier, snappier, and quite a bit drier, which is kind of what I was hoping from the original in the first place - crisp, with potent but manageable bitterness complimented well by a dry malt base and a tropical brett punch - super tasty
Earlier Rating: 5/15/2013 Total Score: 3.9
Bottle - hazy gold pour - soapy, sticky lace - the vibrant citric and tropical character of the Citra and Mosaic hops combines with the pineapple and musky character of the brett to create quite a lovely aroma - soft carbonation and mouthfeel - flavor is tart and moderately acidic up front - a bit juicy, with some light citrus sweetness through the middle - moderately musky, some pineapple brett - strong mango and citrus from the hops - I would like it to be a bit more crisp and dry (perhaps with more time in the bottle, it will be), but this is one of the better beers Iíve had from this brewer.

Bottle at home. Pour is slightly hazy golden orange with a big bright white head and great lacing. Huge bretty, medicinal, band-aid, pineapple, orange peel, mango, slightly grassy, and funky aroma. Taste is band-aid, herbal, papaya, slightly weedy, mute brett, grassy, tropical fruity, and biscuity with a light bitter finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Super well-balanced and the brett and hops are melded beautifully together - super juicy. Even better than the original.

On tap @ Crooked Stave ROY-G-BIV Day. Hazy orange in appearance with a huge white head. Super bretty, pineapple, fresh tropical fruity aroma - mango, band-aid, light weed, medicinal, and citrusy. Taste is pineapples, herbal, tropical fruits, oranges, somewhat grapefruity, papaya, doughy, light straw, beautiful brett and grass. Medium body with medium-to-soft carbonation. Seriously tasty stuff and I canít wait to open one of these up in 6-12 months, as I tend to enjoy Chadís beers better out of the bottle, anyhow.
