375mL bottle from Davidson’s Liquors Highlands Ranch, CO. Super funk aroma: underside of cut grass after drying in sun, back of the stable smell, funky Brett yeast laden beer with more Brett to boot, and throw in the boot of a lemon farmer as well. Big head of foam settles into a bubble garter at the edges, pale orange/yellow haze. Straw sour taste with a an oaky overtone a a whiff of the hops. And it’s my last bottle of Crooked Stave, makes me want more - perhaps start sniffing...

Bottle. Golden orange pour with some tan head. Light citra and other citrus and grassy hop aromas with a good amount of Brett. the blend if. Ultra, Brett and other hops blend ok, but not perfect, almost need something to make the flavors blend better.

1.5 year old bottle. Very strong aroma of fruit and nectar, sweet but not sugary. Has an alluring cloudy haze that begs you to take a sip! Taste is extremely tart and dry with an active fizziness that I wasn’t expecting. Perfect blend of a sour and pale ale, with each style’s defining characteristics present yet never overbearing. This is my new favorite beer ever!

Bottle. It pours a big, diminishing off-white head sure reduced to a fingerthick size. Lacings. Lots of peaches in the aroma, funky, with some barnyard, leather and citrus peel. Spiced hints, peppery hints. Peppery, almost cedar-ish flavor with peaches, pine cones, lemon peel and lots of funky notes. Some bitterness. Medium to full body, with a high but pleasant level of carbonation. Lasting citrusy, peppery and woody finish. Damn tasteful and easy drinkable this one. Lovely. 140608
