3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by David. Thanks. This was interesting. I really enjoyed the nose, but I felt like the flavor fell off a bit. Lots of lemon acidity. Nice bretty and hoppy balance in nose. A little overly dusty bretty with a biting acidity and medium bitter finish. Slightly muddled mouthfeel.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour is lightly hazed golden amber with a tight white head and a few larger bubbles. Nose is heavy citrus bret, lots of orange juice aromas an some citrusy hops. Some light notes of leathery dusty bret as well. Taste is similar, not quite as bright. The citrus is all around with dusty leathery bret in back. Light bitterness and some hop citrus with a moderate carbonation and a very light, delicate body.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
375mL bottle from Davidson’s Liquors Highlands Ranch, CO.
Super funk aroma: underside of cut grass after drying in sun, back of the stable smell, funky Brett yeast laden beer with more Brett to boot, and throw in the boot of a lemon farmer as well.
Big head of foam settles into a bubble garter at the edges, pale orange/yellow haze. Straw sour taste with a an oaky overtone a a whiff of the hops. And it’s my last bottle of Crooked Stave, makes me want more -
perhaps start sniffing...

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
1.5 year old bottle. Very strong aroma of fruit and nectar, sweet but not sugary. Has an alluring cloudy haze that begs you to take a sip! Taste is extremely tart and dry with an active fizziness that I wasn’t expecting. Perfect blend of a sour and pale ale, with each style’s defining characteristics present yet never overbearing. This is my new favorite beer ever!
