2013 batch, enjoyed 2-ways in stemmed wine glass.

A - Murky and deep purple in color.

S - Nose was tannic, ripe and musty. Sweet / tart but reminded me a lot of a blackberry reduction with tart lambic notes.

T - Pretty good. A lot more sour than any other L達rett beer from CS I致e had. A creamy backbone, lots of lactic acid but no traces of vinegar. The blackberries already being tart just made this a sour bomb.

M - Standard carbonation, medium, often champagne like with a swish.

O - Not my favorite of the CS beers but still quite nice and I知 glad to have more.

Like the original but this one has some issues, plasticy, not very great at all.

Bottles. Pours with a hazed, deep purple hued body with a small off-white head. Aromas are of funk first, damp leaves, shrubs, leathery, brett, lightly jammy and very dry blackberry. Fruity, mildly estery. Flavors are dry, lightly immature brett character (cheerios). Jammy, light wine barrel. Lively carbonation, medium bodied.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2013 Bottle generously shared by Alan, poured dark red with tiny bubbled head that wasn稚 hanging around long. Aromas of smashed blackberry, dusty oak, bread, and barn. Flavor is lots of tart fruit: blackberry, peach, and grapes. Other notes of subtle wood and brett. Light to medium body. Another great brew from Crooked Stave. Tried again, really tart and minerally with a fuzzy sweatiness. Nice

Pour out of 375 mL bottle, dark reddish purple pour with thin to no off white head, aroma brought notes of big berry, blackberry, tart raspberry, nice oak, vanilla, slight bretty notes, hints of tropical fruit and doughy notes, pretty nice. Taste is not as tart as I thought, but nice red and dark berry, nice lemon, biscuit, bready notes, slight earth, grassy notes, hints of slight tart note, finishing fairly bitter, slightly tart, hints of more berry.

Bottle, 11/3/2013. Pours purplish red, opaque, subtle pinkish white head fades to fizzy bubbles on the surface, thin ring of lacing around the glass. Aroma is blackberry, grape, lightly jammy, light tartness with baryard notes, touch of brett with wood. Taste is moderately fruity dark berries, mild tartness with earthy oak, funk, long fruity aftertaste. Medium body, coats the tongue. Pretty nice.

Bottle thanks Steve_0 for being an awesome trustee. Aroma is moderately fruity, with delicate notes of seedy blackberries, some plum and grape. Not as much brett funk as the other Cellar Reserve beers in this release, but some pokes through over the sweet aroma - light oak too. The beer pours a beautiful deep red with a purple tint, small head that leaves very small lacing and small legs. Taste follows the aroma pretty well, with more fruit than brett funk, very light acidic notes, some wood astringency.. The flavor is mostly jammy berries/dark grape skins. Body is surprisingly light, with a semi tart and dry finish. I think maybe it needs more time if you池e into the funky or super sour versions of L達rett. It is pretty refreshing and a nice break from the cheek turners.

Kinda cool that i am the third rater - thanks Felipe! Pours hazy purple red, burgundyesque with a tiny off white head that neither sticks around nor laces well. Aroma is bretty, funk, barnyard. Fruity but not specifically blackberry, oak. Flavor is light plus tart, some initial sweetness with a dry finish. Light bodied. Interesting.

375 ml bottle shared by Mark- thanks again, Mark! Wow, first rating. And I知 not even a member. Pours a cloudy ruby color with some scattered bubbles that don稚 accumulate into a head. Aroma of berries, mineral notes, florals, funk, and sour mash. Flavor of blackberries, tart grapes, sourdough, and some oaky funk. Light-medium bodied, with a dry, tart mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Nice sour.
